Wonderful Butternut

Yeah, there's no way both her and her dull son could be putting this on as an act. They are just a genuinely thick family.

I cannot get over her special fried rice vid. Spends about 3 and a half minutes of a 10 minute video chopping garlic, puts it in the wok-style pan that all us Westerners use instead of a real wok, and then it immediately cuts to the garlic having been not just burned but absolutely cremated. And then she fucks raw rice in on top of it. She boils nearly fucking everything, except the one fucking foodstuff she uses that you're supposed to boil.

It's worse than DSP taking 30+ minutes to make Pot Noodle, which he then criticises as not tasting like a gourmet product because he took the Japanese pop culture joke about instant ramen being the tastiest food in the world at face value.

This guy is fantastic: Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't.

He just wanders around the wilderness talking about plants in a comical Chicago accent.

Thanks for this. Just watched his hour long Plant Ecology of Concrete, Garbage and Urine, in one sitting. What a guy!

Small Man Big Horse

I've only just found this thanks to the AV Club, but in 1988 Disney made a Mickey Mouse tv special, and in this four minute clip he visits Cheers, and at the end it looks like he's off to fuck Rebecca. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QiBD_By3u4

I remember watching that at the time. Even as a ten year old I thought it was crap and weird, but I appreciated seeing a bit more of Roger Rabbit at the start.

Feel like I need to plug this filming-locations channel, Beyond the Backlot, just because the production quality is remarkably high for a channel with only 4.8k subscribers.

I'm finding youtube almost unusable at the moment with the amount of ads. Every two minutes a video pausing for some bellend asking me why I'm still working a 9 to 5.... FUCK OFF

Have the troll farms started putting effort into YouTube comment sections now? Just recently I've noticed that videos which would've had mocking comments now seem to be getting a lot of positive support.

Ad an example, the london real geezer posted the video below (conspiracy David icke shite) , and theres probably a majority agreeing or "fight the system" type remarks. Whereas up until fairly recently youtube comments would've been almost entirely laughing at the pathetic attempt at generating controversy.

Unfortunately a plan they have made to make it as unbearable as possible so you might, hopefully, pay for YouTube red (is it still called that? The ad free paid subscription version) - they didn't count on the inherit tightness of the British public though

I miss the broad recommendations of a few years ago. People loved saying they were in ''the weird part of youtube'' now recommendations are a strict list of things you've already watched and channels you already know about and are subscribed to.

It's all to make people pay for better service though. Unless they restrict your rabbit hole scope if you pay for premium as well?

i have an adblocker on chrome and i just have to look at a "not found" screen for a few sec instead of dumb adverts about how i can rule the stock market by copying some nerd

Shame we can't decouple the music crap, indeed I can't go back now.

I use Newpipe on my Android phone, no ads and I can have an adjustable floating screen. When I click a youtube link on CAB it just pops up and I can carry on reading the thread if I wish.

Also it can play in the background which is great for music as you don't have to keep the screen on.

chveik

just use a fucking adblocker lads

There's one particular bit in this Vice documentary about Ibiza that has made me laugh far more than I should:

I think this one's very much a 'are you laughing at the shouting bloke or the expression on the bloke who's somehow now associated with him on camera' situation.

Brilliant vid. The combination of pure desolation, rants about capitalism, enthusiasm about botany and hilarious accent is original, arresting and hypnotic.

WhoMe

Really quite a profound video on the probability of life and intelligence in the universe. The creator is a scientist who has been researching a paper over the last year or so. I've always been in the surely-there's-loads camp but this has given me a more nuanced perspective, especially considering the time it appears to take for intelligent life to form (with a sample size of one..) vs the life cycle of the accompanying star.

Warning, poo.
The Drain Addict (a very curious name for a channel, when you think about it) is the best.

I love the comments for all his videos are largely the same - "no idea why I'm watching this, but it's brilliant".

Ever got into a loop of watching those videos of someone draining giant boils and tumours of their puss, buckets and buckets worth of the stuff. It's oddly addicting and therapeutic. I imagine it's similar to that lot who are mainlining American riot footage off social media into their eyesockets non-stop at the moment.
