After watching Infinity War and the level of acting and CGI that came through with Thanos, Steppenwolf may as well be this

I'm currently watching this with the RLM commentary track and it actually looks like an exteneded video game cutscene, it really is horrific.

Bazooka

I hadn't actually watched any clips yet, so watched the final battle, holy fuck a duck, couldn't believe my eyes.

I watched this again the other day, and I again quite enjoyed it. It's not bad. It's certainly not as bad as the previous DC films anyway (bar Wonder Woman, which is still the best by far)

It does feel edited and chopped to fuck, though. I wonder what the original three hour cut was like, before they Whedon'ed it

I still want a Batfleck solo film, with him just murdering everyone. It'd be a comedy classic

I want an All-Star Batman & Robin movie. Affleck as THE GODDAMN BATMAN would be awesome.

The Batman Movie Is Reportedly Looking At Using A Classic Villain.

We have a young version in Gotham. but I'd love to see a proper Penguin on the big screen. Danny DeVito gave a great performance in Batman Returns, but it was a bit of an extreme take on ol' Oswald.

Look at the shot at 0:52, of Fast Red Man swinging through the air. Or Superman hovering at 3:40. It really is PlayStation 2 cutscene material. And the sky at 4:33 genuinely looks worse than the re-coloured alien skies of 1980s Doctor Who. I'm very aware that the actors are moving around in a false environment - not in a stylised comic-book way, but in a shit way.

Shocking stuff from what I gather is supposed to be a major contender in the current blockbuster marketplace. Really bad.

So apparently Henry Cavill is finally hanging up the cape.

I dunno if it was his choice really, but if it was, I can't say I blame him, given the total mess DC have made of their shared universe thingy. Meanwhile, in response to all the chatter, Cavill done this weird thing.

Read somewhere else that Michael B. Jordan is rumoured to be on the shortlist for the next Superpants. A black Superman! A black Superman!*

*And why not?

SavageHedgehog

I think it's a shame he didn't get a full film of "proper" Superman, as that was the best bit of JL, but also not really a surprise.

Small Man Big Horse

I think it's a shame really as I thought he was great in the role, just let down by the material. Like you I can't blame him for wanting to leave though, and if he does I'd be more than happy to see Jordan in the role, if only because it'll cause racists to explode and then they'll be dead and this is a good thing.

Mister Six

Cavill's agent has denied it, though if I could be arsed I'd put money on him leaving DC to become the new Bond (or it just being a contract renegotiation thing so he doesn't have to fuck around making cameos in 50 films a year like the Marvel lot do).

Jordan's a great actor but I don't think a black guy could grow up in America and have the faith in humanity that Superman has. Also his chin's a bit weak.

Batman likewise is the personification of white privilege so it doesn't quite work if he's black.

Other than that I think it's fair game. Black Wonder Woman? Sure. Black Green Lantern? There already is one. Black Flash? That's basically just Usain Bolt.

Nah, he's the black Aeon Flux.

Finally watched this with xero expectation and ehhhhh.... it was actually entertaining enough. Fuck-awful CGI scenes are par for the course with these things but the heroes were all fine.

Gulftastic

I'm still trying to work out if Wonder Woman can fly or not in the DCU films. She seems to do a bit of it in the final boss fight in her own film, but then in the JLA film, she's shitting it with the rest of them when they are stood on a collapsing bridge.

AsparagusTrevor

She doesn't even have an invisible jet. Well I didn't see one anyway.

Mango Chimes

Just watched this vid, and fuck did Snyder bollocks up what could've been a great Superman... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eIj1nDUs9g

amputeeporn

Yeah, he seems likeable in a way that the films just never even hinted at. Madness.
