Going all the way back to the first page of the thread:
Made by DekkerToys, the image is from page 218 of the 1982 Argos Spring/Summer catalogue (it's first appearance):
https://issuu.com/retromash/docs/argos-no17-1982-springsummer
It was also in the Autumn winter catalogue of that year (page 134 in the link, actually on page 268)
That's the one. No.2 in that image. I'd have been 4/5 years old.

Every six months or so I run a search for an ebook of Casanova's Icosameron, about a brother and sister called Edward and Elizabeth who stumble across an underground kingdom called Megamicres of Protocosmos, discover a load of flying horses, invent the telegraph, then shag a lot and start a new kingdom where shagging your sister is compulsory, and every six months or so I'm disappointed.
I think the issue is, the English translation is relatively modern and won't be a public domain thing with ease of turning into an e-book and all that.

Yeah, the only English translation seems to be from 1986 (and that's an American small press and it's not in the British Library catalog). It's possible it was translated into English long ago under another title, maybe in an unauthorised edition without the author's name, but not sure how you'd find that without a long search through the literature about Casanova.

Loving that Seve Ballesteros golf game box. Seve absolutely caning it, kid almost in tears. "Seve, he's only seven!" shouts his missus off camera. "Yeah, seven over par!" he roars back.

It appears that at no point in the many years this thread has been running did I ask this question here. But I asked it there, and Famous Mortimer, prince among men, has come through.

A 1980s PIF involving a doll's head being smashed in by a falling iron. Traumatised me as a young 'un.

Has this been replied to? Probably, but here is said PIF, eight years later:

Christ. That'll be haunting my dreams tonight.

Gurke and Hare

The Chicken & Chips song from Look & Read.

Every so often I search the internet for a mix the Super Furry Animals did on Radio 1 which I distinctly remember hearing on Radio 1 late night around 20 years ago.

It included parts of the work the band did with Paul McCartney on a "Liverpool Sound Collage".

But no matter what I search for I haven't been able to find it. In fact I've probably posted on here about it before!

This one is tagged "Paul McCartney", so maybe?

The first track is by Bodenstandig 2000 and is an absolute banger, if that stirs a memory.

There's a whole thread in the movie subforum for this purpose, might have more luck there.

Someone seems to have posted a link here but when I clicked on it my computer got angry, so though they said it was safe I didn't download it myself. http://5.cityscram.com/898.html

Edit: It appears to be currently seeded on the pirate bay too - https://piratebay.party/torrent/14028175/I_ve_Heard_the_Mermaids_Singing_(1987)

Amazing, that's the one. +50 karma.

Don't know why that never turned up in my Google searches. Maybe I should have thought to search places like mixcloud...

Listening to this gives me an incredible flashback to being a very very stoned student in halls of residence. Total nostalgia.

Song called City Girl by Vote Show Pony, it was on Adam and Joe's Coke new music podcast in the mid 00's. Short live clip here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yF4qvKYsEU but nothing more.

I've just dug this out and uploaded to youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovxQptMG3hc

What a tune!

JaDanketies

if anyone can find me an mp3 of We Smoke by Poboy the Prince of Pine, who worked with Afroman for a period, or the full album "Left the bright opening" by Cloud Archive, I'd be very appreciative thanks.

Anyone remember an animation from around 2002/3 of a crudely drawn animated ghost singing a song called "I Am The Ghost"?

More than likely found it on b3ta but, having searched, looks like it's long gone.

Woah! That's brought 2007 flooding back, blimey. Feel a bit weird now...

There was some other good stuff on those podcasts by acts who didn't really go anywhere - I remember a sort of James Bond-themed comedy-ish hip-hop-ish number that was interesting, do you know who that was? Also a teenage girl version of something like the streets' "dry your eyes" that I remember being quite affecting.

A poster for the band Amen that reads:

"Drink piss
- Amen".

It was free inside a UK music magazine circa 2001, which I think was Rocksound. Did anyone see this, even if they don't have a link?

I put it on my bedroom wall, then my brother ran to tell my mum to try to get me in trouble.

I don't even like the band now, I just want to see the picture.

Famous Mortimer

I once found a panel in Computer & Video Games (a joke about "Aliens") after going through dozens of back issues on archive.org, but it doesn't look like there are many / any issues of "Rock Sound" on there. It's still going so it might be worth pretending to be a student or historian or something and ask if you can poke round their digital archive?

In the 80s, on ITN news reports about Northern Ireland, the graphic in the corner of the screen was a little man in a balaclava holding a gun in front of a flag. I remember this so clearly but can't find it anywhere online. Similarly, the mentions of "mickey mouse bombs"

Thanks for remembering, non capisco. I did actually email Wall's again a couple of months back, but didn't even get a reply this time. It must exist somewhere. Fortunately, someone posted this on eBay a few years back which I occasionally visit to remind myself it wasn't all some psychotic hallucination:
