I know there's been a recent thread on Dark Souls but its predecessor has just popped up on PS+ and I've given it a few hours now. I expect there might be a couple on here in a similar position. I would have already got Dark Souls but it's not on PSN and I'm not buying it from a shop.

So, what's to say about this besides "it's unforgiving"?

I like that timing and decision making is everything. I like games that require coordination and immediate, almost subconscious, reaction. I like that while enemies do have certain patterns to their attacks, even the most basic dreglings employ plenty of variety and a certain amount of unpredictability. They do tend to attack first but even then, they have a few moves in their repertoire, forcing you to adapt and choose your moment.

More later, need to go out.
