Hey guys, anyone else seen this?

Apologies for the indirect link, I don't know how to change it.

Looks like he's in a new comedy drama.

Edit: Sorry it's a new film by Richard Ayoade, judging by the trailer he plays a general or something. Perfect casting. Again apologies for the haste of this topic, desperately trying to write this at work.

Hehe, we're like addicts desperately lapping up whatever new Morris we can get.

He does have such a strong on screen presence.

Noodle Lizard

That's it?

So then, two trailers for this film and I have absolutely no idea what it's about.  There's an awkward, quirky guy in awkward, quirky situations.  That's it!

Glad to see they didn't throw out those early Red Dwarf sets. No respect for the past, most people.
Not this production designer.

I kid. I kid. This could potentially be good, could potentially not be. I like a lot of the people involved, although I find Jesse Eisenberg very one-note. Yet if he fits this role and he does it well, I guess it's alright. I guess he's potentially far from a bad actor. Just one who plays only a single sort of person well. I haven't seen the Social Network, but I hear he's very good in that, but I don't tend to believe his performances in the other stuff I've seen.

This does seem particularly the case with young actors, they seem to have far less range than middle aged/older actors. It might simply be having less autonomy or bravery when it comes to being selected/picking roles.

Life experience as well possibly.  There may well be more of a careerist approach towards acting now than there was in past.  Older actors seem more likely to have worked day jobs and done other things rather than coming straight out of drama school.

This Mark Kermode review of 'The Double' features pretty much all of Morris' extremely brief cameo.

Cheers.

Shame Morris is only there for such a short time, as it's always fun seeing him perform.

Jesse Eisenberg doing more of his 'small mouth acting', for want of a better term.
