I don't know when Mackichan's differences with Herring occurred - anyone have any idea?

I didn't know there WERE any?  What happened there?

Well, I've heard tales of Herring's unpleasant behaviour during his coke period, but perhaps it's do to with taking sides with either Sally Phillips or the short cheery one after one of their break-ups.

Pure speculation on my part, don't take it as gospel.

News programmes regularly use weak puns, especially in their links.
Surely this is the point.
To miss out the puns would have been missing a bit part of what needs spoofing about the news.
