"Doctor, are you undressing now." "Yes, of course I am!"

"Right, off you go. Medium beating."

"You'll have to look the other way - I've got a bit of a boner."

This is easily in my top 5 of all the Doc sketches.

Thomas

It is amazing. I'm laughing far too loud, people are asleep.

I know some people feel bothered that David Cann is of a Conservative bent, but it just makes these doc sketches even more incredible for me. Especially the unused 'Doc Rude' one.

Hahaha. Something about it being "a bit of a boner" is such a minor, but crucial thing for me. It's a phrase I try to use as much possible (never enough).

Spiral King

I always found this sketch rather poignant. One of those things that COULD happen, even if it wasn't stated in such blunt terms.

LOVE this track too. One of the few remixes that surpasses the original.

Yeah, I dunno why people would care about that. He didn't write that excellent sketch, so who cares?

Conservatives can be funny too.

Peter Cook wrote for the Daily Mail and he makes up the first 4 letters of this place.

I'm guessing that quite a few CaB heroes are right-wing, they just have the common sense not to say it.

Spiral King

The last of the "She/He was an [ x ] trapped in the body of a [y]" sketches. Absolutely not transphobic, in my opinion. Just Morris making fun of otherkins 15 years ahead of the creation of Tumblr. Good stuff.

Spiral King

Yesssssssss. Arthur Smith didn't talk over the outro! Thank fuck. Good job, Mr. Smith. Just do that the next two weeks as well, please.

Now to wait for olliebean. Good Boxing Day.

And you couldn't hear him breathing over the top of it either!  You're too good to us, Arfur.

Hahah, yes. Very happy with that. Best ep of Series 2 gets an absolutely clean edit.

Sounds to me like he did start talking over the end of it but someone in the control room held back on his fader until it had finished.

mp2 now uploading - should be there in 10 minutes or so. iPlayer isn't delivering yet.

<edit> iPlayer version now uploading.

He was taking the piss out of people nobody knew existed? I do still enjoy them, even tho' I'm more uncomfortable about them due to knowing more about trans issues than I did then.

I think a lot of Morris' comedy ideas are based upon "these ridiculous extreme things could possibly happen", and even if Morris didn't know otherkin existed (apparently they were making their presence known as early as 1990), I think he predicted them by taking gender dysphoria to a ridiculous conclusion. Call me "truscum" or whatever, but I'm not convinced someone can identify as a toaster or whatever and feel it undermines people who are really struggling in society as trans.

Anyway, working on the Episode 4 edit now. Should be an easy one.

Blue Jam - Series 2, Episode 4 in FLAC [olliebean's M4A > WAV > Edited in Audacity > WAV > FLAC]

This week's episode, as previously stated, was played in full, without Arthur Smith exhaling into his mic. I have done some minor edits to the end of the episode in the form of a slight fade out, due to a very low "Welcome to the Comedy Club" sting being mistakenly(?) queued at the very end, which I felt needed eliminating. Hope you all enjoy it!

With you, even tho' me eyebrow's raised at "a transgender" in a "What... is a gay?" way.

Anyway, thanks for another fine FLAC, Stanley.

You see, now I DO feel old. Is "feel it undermines people who are really struggling in a society as trans" better? I'm honestly not trying to come across as an old fogy who keeps messing up the proper terms in an embarrassing way.

No problem. Happy to provide the service.

Yeah, I think so. No probs.

DJ One Record

Great episode. Excellent music choices throughout - always found the squelchy beats from that Super Discount track made the Porn sketch seem 10 times more disturbing somehow. Also, the use of Rupert Holmes in the Doc Children's Clothes sketch is inspired, particularly in the way it jumps to the guitar solo each time the doctor's behaviour gets more depraved.

Episode 5 is about to be broadcast on 4 Extra.

Spiral King

Off to an annoying start already. Shut up, Smith, you tedious man.

Spiral King

This is probably my favourite Massive Attack track of all time. The bass is incredible with the right kind of equipment. Cloaks you like a warm blanket.

Spiral King

"Special Ticket" is a great sketch. I really love the as-yet-identified background music... really suits the mood.

"All notes from bloody bastards."

Spiral King

Interesting to hear one of the awkward cuts at the beginning of Grace Jones' "My Jamaican Guy" seems to be from the master tape and not the 1998 mp3 recording of it.

Spiral King

Doc Fight is really one of those sketches that should have made it into Jam. I'd love to see David Cann jumping up and down on Mark Heap's chest.

"Tell Her You Love Her (Instrumental)" really encapsulates the more playful side of Blue Jam for me. So glad to finally find an mp3 of it after ages of searching online.

Spiral King

Confession time: I never "got" the Unemployed Welsh Men sketches. I think they're probably the weakest part of Blue Jam. There are some amusing lines in them, but mostly they are a laugh free zone.

The soundtrack is definitely To Rococco Rot, by the way. I can't believe this was ever a point of contention when the new definitive music list was being compiled. It's obviously not Gigi Masin's original.

Nutter

Seriously? This is probably my favorite bluejam sketch, the things they're talking about are just so ridiculous I can't help but laugh. Plus there is sort of an inside joke that welsh people are known to be a bit simple minded, and I can vouch for that. Very basic people.

I wouldn't think many people would find it nearly as funny if you weren't welsh though.

I wonder if Pete Baynham had sole writing duties of these, or if Morris asked him "well, would your dad/grandad say something like this, like it was a fact?"

Anyway, this next sketch is probably easily one of my favourites in the whole series. I've spoken about it at length in another thread, but it really is great.

I missed the first 15 minutes or so tonight.  What happened, then?  Did Smiff talk over the beginning of it?

The first time I'd heard "bollock" used as an insult.
