@ssmaster

I am currently in the throws of relaunching TSM Radio, for those of you who don't know it is an internet streaming radio for unsigned/independent artists.

I ran it for a while last year but found it too much hard work to maintain. However I have some new snazzy software which will make it easier to run. Blue Jammer and Poison Popcorn were featured last year and I'm looking for more people to kick it off again.

So if you have some music in mp3 format that you would like to be featured just post a link so I can download it. Or if you want to send me a CD just PM me and I will give you my home address.

Preferably I also need a website link too as I will feature it on the playlist so if anyone likes your stuff they can visit your site.

I hope I'm not treading on anyones toes by posting this.

Vermschneid Mehearties

Are samples of potentially copyrighted stuff a no-go area? I assume so...

@ssmaster

Naa, it doesn't bother me. The worst that will happen is that they will tell me to remove it or pay royalties. Post away I will chance it.

If you are worried about any comeback I can use a false name and not bother linking to your site if you like.

fanny splendid

Get Dr David V to send some of his stuff.

I can't remember the name of the track that Colin and Tracey played on Sunday, but I bloody liked it.

weekender

I liked a track that the unicorn did, also one by some chap called pelitely blacksmear or something.  I've got them saved, that's how much I liked them, could somebody remind me to upload them?  Sounds ideal for your purposes.  Cheers.

Spooky, I was just about to post here...

Here are two songs which are already online. At least 50% of these have had radio play.

http://boiledhead.members.easyspace.com/sta.mp3
http://boiledhead.members.easyspace.com/bounce.mp3

That one played on Sunday was The Boiled Song, and I do intend on uploading it, if only for the benefit of that Cock of a Rat. Finding space to upload a decent quality version is the only problem now.

By the way, can anyone tell me how much of the song they played? I'm guessing that they faded out the ambient bit at the end, but I've no idea, as those cunts of friends my mum has forced me off the PC.

Oh, and thanks for your comments Fanny, they're much appreciated.

EDIT: oh, and there's this too: http://boiledhead.members.easyspace.com/gap.mp3

Vermschneid Mehearties

Unfortunately I've nowhere to put them. I think my old man has some space over at Tiscali but I think I'll have to dabble in FTP nosense. Grr. I might just post you the CD.

El Unicornio, mang

Thanks for the namecheck, weekender

I have a few tracks available for download, the first two just my usual stuff and the last one a bit of a silly one (which takes samples from this: http://movies.flabber.nl/Madonna.wannabe/ , originally posted in the Bomb'd Shelter)

@ssmaster

Cheers guys I have downloaded those tunes and I will listen to them later.

Benny J. Fish

Hello- I'm the artist formerly known as Benny Schnitzelchomp, before you think I'm just some trolling fucknut who's abusing this!

Digital Fish are my band and I hope you like them very much.

@ssmaster

Is there any song you would like me to feature in particular Benny?

blue jammer

@ssy, feel free to use any of my stuff either from CD or anything I have online, there's 2 old school house/techno mixes, further down the list in SE, dunno if those are of any use to you, around 70 mins each...

(I've a shit memory, have I sent you my other 2 albums? or have you just got Sonic Textures.. if not I'll get them posted out tomorrow... are you still at the "flat 5" address)

I have only got Sonic Textures at the moment so if I can blag a free copy of your other albums then that would be just super. Oh and yes I'm still at the flat 5 address.

EDITED to change the link.

poison popcorn

there's one rats was doing some singing on that was sounding really good, but he's not finished it yet. if he's happy enough to put that one up when/if it gets done then feel free to use that. if not there's some more at http://poisonpopcorn.dmusic.com/ (but i do prefer the newer one)

who did the singing challenge thread last time, unicorn, dr vortesquesmithe? surely worth a repost...

If there's anything you like most use that. Failing that, the production on the Compact Baby Disc ones is nicer, so one or t'other of those two. Cheers matey, If I can repay the favour in any way...

falafel

I'd appreciate it if you gave some of my stuff a spin: http://homepages.ntlworld.com/sam.mcginty/. There's only one up there at the moment, but I'll shove a couple more up by tomorrow. If you want.

BTW, 'Angel', the one that's up there now, was on the second Verbwhores compilation CD.

(Afraid I'm another namechanger: not that you'd recognise either of the old ones - sammcginty / tangy falafel - but please be aware that I am a moderately seasoned, if somewhat laconic, poster, and not some heartless opportunity thief on the lookout for some easy airtime)

Thanks.

ed: umm, urls don't seem to be working... and neither does my keyboard, but that's by the by)

edit 2: ah yes, it does work. I'm obviously some kind of idiot.

weekender

I really like these two tracks from Verbwhores:

The Unicorn - Have You Ever

This is great I think - very light, summery and chilling.  Reminds me of the lovely incidental music you used to get on stuff like the Open University, and that's meant as a compliment.

Pelitely Blacksmear - My Hope Very Small

I think Pelitely Blacksmear was actually called that on here, but I don't know what happened to him - if he signed up under a different name, or just left.  Either way, I hope he doesn't mind me posting that track.  I think it's very good and hopefully some other people will like it.

I think you stuck in a stray 's', and you need to post the whole url (including the http bits), the following link works fine for me:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sam.mcginty/Docs%20%20(A)/

I'm assuming that's yours, because of the 'Crap 24' mongs that are posted there.

Yup. That's the one.

Oh, by the way, I've upped a second one - that'll do for the time being, methinks. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sam.mcginty/Docs%20%20(A)/Soft.zip. Enjoy?

@ssmaster

Just to let you know that I am grateful for you allowing me to use your music (I got your CDs BJ ta) and the radio station should be running soon. Only a few tweaks to go and just as soon as Blueyonder get their arses into gear and sort out my dual connection issue.

ClaudiusMaximus

If anyone needs somewhere to host their music, I cannot recommend Archive.org enough - unlimited bandwidth forever is their claim and with backing from governments and corporations they aren't overhyping themselves.  I put mine in the Open Source Audio collection, the only requirement is to make it available under a Creative Commons license - there is a questionnaire to help you chose which rights you want to give others.

Here's my first album:  Good Stuff Going Cheap

I wrote this in 1997-8 while in the lower sixth, some idiot was trying to sell mix tapes that he made and I thought my music was much better, a couple of posters later and I sold a grand total of 3, I think I was pricing it too low so people thought it couldn't be any good.  Damn capitalism.  The best tracks are 5, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 15, they still sound fresh today.

@ssmaster

Well after a couple of weeks setting the bloody thing up TSM Radio is now broadcasting. You can check it out here http://thesunmachine.net/radio

So far I haven't added in the songs that have been posted here as I haven't had the time go listen to them all although I will be adding them over the next week.

Anyway give it a try a let me know what you think.

blue jammer

Cheers Mr @ssmater man.

Just a quickie note to people with firewalls, you'll have to allow a rule for it to connect out from winamp, as mine just sat there saying "couldn't connect" flashing between that and http://tsmradio.mine.nu:8000/ << the link to the stream I presume.

Sounds decent (although a wee bit loud/distorted, maybe knock the vol down a notch or two) at 56k mono, good job there fella :thumbsup:

@ssmaster

I've took the vol down a few notches as I agree it was a bit distorted in places.

the direct listen url is http://tsmradio.mine.nu:8000/listen.pls if you fancy listening to it with your default external player ie winamp. If you visit the site though and go the the playlist/request section you can request a song and it will go third in the queue (unless someone has requested a song before you). You can have 2 requests every 20 minutes.

That's excellent that is, it has been added to my playlist - what programs did you use to make it?. I wish I could contribute to this thread properly, like I do with all these muso bandwhores style thread but I have neither the ability or the equipment/software to do so.
