I don't mean songs that have a great guitar solo or middle eight, or songs that decide to tack on something completely different and awesome onto the end to wrongfoot and delight the listener.

I mean songs that you're enjoying quite a bit, everything is pleasing you, nevertheless you're looking forward to the song's end, and then WHAM. They change it up and suddenly the song reaches new heights.

Example: Ryan Adams - English Girls Approximately: http://youtu.be/DS60JxAb8Qc. It's pretty great all the way through and then right near the end, he says 'just three words, my love - you meant everything' and then *BAAAAAAAAAAWOOOOOOWOOOW* and it becomes a different, better song.

You know what I mean? Songs that are good and then become really good?
