Jon Hopkins - 100

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUKnpXGfiRs

I invite hate on this tune if necessary but I love it.

Reminds me of this, which I prefer. I'd say breakbeat too though. I wouldn't call it ambient at all, but it seems that is another word that seems to have a completely different meaning to me, because it seems that typically people apply it to anything with pads.

In the interests of contributing, apologies if this is obvious, but its one of my favourites of all time: Surkit by Reel By Real

Can see the similarities in Outhouse and the Gui Boratto tune, really like that.

I saw Lee Gamble recently, he played lots of noisy stuff, was quite an experience, one tune that he played I managed to track down - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYqMRaIy3po, synth gets me all nostalgic, 2.15 onwards

Tone of Arc - Shutters are Shaking (DJ Edit Instrumental)

This more House / Electronic quirkiness, but a fun way to spend 8 minutes.

Extra points for the dinosaur artwork on all their releases.

OK OK OK, not techno although a couple of techno tracks feature, but boy do we all need some sunshine to lift our spirits

This little Al Ferox number will wake you up:

The new Late Night Tales release is from Sasha, Scene Delete and it is rather good. Predominantly featuring his own tracks. Never been mad about Sasha really, as an artist, but I have to say this is thoroughly decent and is a great addition to the LNT series.

I've never really got into techno and I know basically nothing about it, but I just wanna say my mate dragged me to see Joey Beltram at Bang Face Weekender over the weekend and it was abslutely fucking boss.

Nathan Fake - The Sky was Pink (James Holden Remix)

Bought this on vinyl when it first came out. An essential tune.

Rare enough that I get into an artist at the start of their career but I love this guy Dan Shake and he's apparently only done a dozen or so tunes. For some reason I'm really into deep house these days, especially when I'm drunk.

Bit 'o deep house for all the boys and girls.

DJ OCTOPUS - MORNING LAB! (2016)

I'm becoming a big fan of Hot Haus records. They release music that sounds like it was made fifteen years ago.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQZ5o8HEkus

Unoriginal

Some great tracks have been posted in here. Thanks for opening my eyes to artists and tracks that I may not have discovered otherwise.

I'm not the biggest fan of most ambient techno so most of these recommendations are heavy and many of you may know most of them anyway. Regardless, here's a few of my favourites:

Rrose - Waterfall

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoLwgsx7hWA

He's playing at Corsica Studios in London on Sunday. Not sure if tickets are sold out but it's going to be one hell of a show (Lucy and Kangding Ray also playing among others)

Matthew Jonson - Marionette

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daSid6Lh9Vs

My favourite techno track. I'm not the biggest fan of the sets of his i've heard but this is incredible from start to finish.

UVB - Mixtion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKJVVkzo7fA

Iconic track for good reason. If you've listened to many techno sets you have almost certainly heard this at some point.

Conceiled Project (Adam Beyer) - Pattern 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjq666lMOpA

This takes me to a pretty dark place but it's as close to a perfectly constructed techno song as I've heard. You wouldn't think Beyer was capable of making music of this depth when you hear what he puts out today.

X-101 - Sonic Destroyer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtqJdISUEtE

Too many people forget where and who invented techno (especially the Germans). Not much has topped this in the  last 30 years. However, on the same vinyl, you have...

Jeff Mills - Hypnotist

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FY3xy43hd-c

FIRE.

I could post at least five more Jeff Mills tracks but I think we all know how good he is!

Ancient Methods - First Method - A2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iaSJKdDdEs

One of the best DJs i've seen in person. I want to watch a war film with a soundtrack created by this man.

Aphex Twin - Digeridoo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5UBYOv1G9A

One of the greatest techno innovators Britain has produced. Probably in the minority who prefers his early, relentless, abrasive output such as this. I've heard some of his sets from the early 90s and they are mindblowing. What a man.

Surgeon - Returning to the Purity of Current

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUdNs8yymis

Consistency wise, probably the best techno producer Britain has... produced. Will be seeing him in June! It was hard to pick a specific track but this was the first that came to mind. I'd say his best tracks are the ones he did with Regis as British Murder Boys (what a shame that they went their separate ways) but I'll post some of them another time.

Ok, one more before going to bed.

Abdulla Rashim - A Shell of Speed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgYrIiVKgNM

Another one of the best DJs i've seen. The hypnotic, looping and dense techno that he creates hits my sweet spot. His sets are where you really come to appreciate his mastery but this is a superb track in its own right.

---

There's many more but they can be posted another time. Here's my soundcloud account address: https://soundcloud.com/job-15

All the reposts are essential listening of course.

monkfromhavana

It's not really techno, more weird disco from 1980, but I like it,  it has a nice spacey, dubby feel which probably explains why Larry Levan played it.

Brian Briggs - Aeo (Parts 1 & 2)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kZYc-3bf3Y

This popped in my head the other day, unusual French techno from 1993

D.J. G La Tortue - Salinas

This type of stuff really makes me cream my crackers.

Odd Parents - Learn To Fly (Maceo's Flight Home Remix)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ErLuLJmrtY

This Plex fella impresses me as a producer. Decent DJ too.

Here's his remix of The Smiths - How Soon is Now

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNtI9sqJt40

It doesn't seem to be commercially available, he just dropped it into his Boiler Room set. There you go, have some of that. Just pop it into a set and never speak of it again.
