Been listening to a lot of Omar S again lately, this one is excellent

Wayne County Hill Cop's - OB IGNITT and Omar-S

Can't place the bassline, something late 80s?

The Omar S mix adds some nice elements too.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but Funk D'Void now streams from his studio on Twitch. Conversation and making tunes.

I'd prefer he makes albums.

ok then,

The Martian - Sex in Zero Gravity

Actually released on 12" as by Your Favourite Martian.

Almost certainly a different alien, but was reminded of this track from New York in 1990 when house and techno were played together on the same night.

The Martian - Get Up To My Groove

Hurray, it's the 25th anniversary of Laurent Garnier's Mixmag Mix (Vol 19). It's being remastered and reissued as we speak.

Anyway, enjoy here on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HeNJaZsT0Y

Bought that when it came out and it still gets a regular play to this day. And his Xmix and another I've forgotten the title of.

His essential mic from the mid-nineties was a blinder too.

X-Mix 2 is beautiful. You thinking Laboratoire, the grey double CD? Lovely stuff. Not sure I've heard the mid 90s essential mix. Better go find it then...

jobotic

Yeah that's the one, really good stuff.

My clubbing days weren't extensive but during a pretty shitty time in my life I had one of the best nights pilled up while LG did a set from 1am to seven. It was fucking awesome.

Fuck me the Laurent Garnier 94 Essential mix is awesome. How did I miss that one? Esseray - Forces calls back memories of X-Mix4 (Dave Angel) and Lemon 8 - Model 8 from X-Mix3 (John Aquavia / Richie Hawtin).

It's this I played to death. So many amazing tracks. Part 1 from track 3 onwards is just perfect. The rest is pretty good too, apart from the cack Metalheadz drum and bass at the end. Blew my mind at the time.

The release that Laurent Garnier plays is the The Splash Band's cover version - great tune.

That was amazing. Part 1 is actual perfection. Quite atmospheric, then banging, then electro-ish. Yeah nice remix of the Assault on Precinct 13 theme. Thanks jobotic.

Apologies if there is a more general Electronic music thread, but couldn't see it.
Anyway, this EP is fucking quality. A mixture of bass/ambient/breaks. Lovely stuff, shame the vinyl run was just ten copies.

Fantastic, thanks

I think DJ Lethal did about half of the HoP production...

This turned up on my end of the year Spotify list and I'm really pleased 'cos I couldn't remember the name of it even though I played it to death at the beginning of 2020 before everything went to shit. Beautiful piece of optimism that sounds like it's trying to break out of the machine.

Lovely slice of mellow techno, very much at odds to the Gabba (Gabber?) inclined A-side tracks.
