Never heard of John Tejada before reading this thread a couple of days ago and my god in heaven he is brilliant. Melody just pisses out of every pore in his body. I was just listening to "Timeless Space" and had to switch it off because it was too much excitement. I honestly can't remember doing that for a good few years. All lot of his tunes are probably objectively quite dull possibly but I still quite like them but then a monster like Timeless Space pops out of the deck and fuck me. The kids got something.

I'm going to save this thread and comb my way through the artists meticulously but if the rest is even half as good as Tejada then I'm in for some treat. This is what CaB is all about for me.

Yup, John Tejada is good.  Rare to have a techno artist so melodic.

You're welcome. Unstable Condition is still the best of song off that album for me though.

This is my melodic playlist on Spotify you may like.

I only ended up taking two tunes off that album and Unstable Condition was the other one. You might think two tunes off an album isn't a high hit rate but it's the quality that matters to me. I now have an unquenchable desire for more Tejada. Just bumped into The End Of It All 2015 Mix and it's incredible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jarn75FbK9M

I really don't know if he is one of the most talented producers I've ever heard or if he just happens to excel in that melodic channel that hits the spot for me like a bullseye, it's hard to distinguish. His synth melody work is pretty phenomenal. He mines that area so thoroughly and deceptively simply, it seems like his mind has infinite capacity for this area in particular.

I think this synth pop song he produced is really lovely and under appreciated.

Released as Bavaria in 2014 and only 13 views on Youtube.

Lusine is also worth checking out. He did a similar sweet cover of Electronic's Get The Message.

I've posted his stuff before, but you'd maybe like John Beltran too.

5am listening to this Laurent Garnier DJ set. One cool French motherfucker and the most consistent DJ there is.

Man with a Red Face (remixed) still sounds phenomenal after 15 years.

Loved this since I bought it, 'cos it's fucking banging mate, but also for that sound at 3.22 - anyone know any other good examples of it? I'm sure it was common thing back then. Kind of Basic Chanelly but not quite.

Melodic once it gets going. I love the little beat snap backs.

Don't know how else to describe them.

Been out the loop with "Dance Music" (as all the cool kids are calling it again :)) but having treated myself to some lovely new loud-as-fuck monitor speakers (KRK Rokit 5s if you interested) I've been hunting out loads more 4/4 stuff; there so much amazing stuff around so might as well share it on here. I'm as confused with genres as anyone so excuse any boundary transgressions.

JS

I think that the artist. I got the cd version which pulls together the 12" releases. I think its a guy from Manchester. Basic Channel dub techno with maybe a bit more of a housey groove.

Forward To The Past 2 - Poker Flat Recordings Acid House / Techno tribute record

https://pokerflatrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/forward-to-the-past-2-the-acid-flashback

Not really much more to add but to my ears it is class.

Opal Tapes

This Newcastle based label isnt really a techno label (more cassettes and ambient sound stuff) but when it goes 4/4 some magic tends to happen. The that have stuck with me are Russell E.L. Butler and Patricia

https://opaltapes.bandcamp.com/album/russell-e-l-butler-god-is-change

http://opaltapes.bandcamp.com/album/patricia-bem-inventory

My only issue with Patricia is sometimes I think the production should too lo-fi but on other occasions, especially through my nice headphones it just totally works. Think its worth sticking the album on an sinking into the mood.

Last Magpie

This is stretching the techno rule somewhat but I just really like it. Fun video too.

Enjoy.

YES MATE. I don't 'blow me own horn' and usually stay anon but I have done 3 releases on Opal Tapes, one solo, one split and one collaboration. I'm on the 4/4 side of things...

Randomer - Real Talk (favourite of mine from last few years):

William Watts - Eye Mush (recent Opal Tapes, by my mate who doesn't listen to techno just black metal, noise, hardcore etc mainly, original stuff):

Brother From Another Planet - Planet Earth (valuable old Claude Young tune that techno heads of a certain age have definitely heard):

Fixx - Flash (sorry someone's probably posted this already but one of the funkiest techno records ever, Orlando Voorn on the P-Funk tip. 1992! goes off every time):
