Have you tried AdAway? It downloads a blacklist of ad sites and blocks them in your HOSTS file if you've got a rooted phone.

The latest version can be found on XDA forums, since it's been removed from the Play store on the grounds that it's anti-revenue for apps that rely on adverts.
