Trying to place a very vague memory - Maths programme from 80s

Hi, wonder if anyone can help me here.

I have a memory of a childrens programme about maths that I would have seen in the mid-late 80s (though it may have been made earlier).. I realise it's not much to go on, but all I recall is that though it had human presenters, there were regular animated sections featuring geometic shapes and numbers (depending on the maths subject) moving around on a grid making wordless grunting sounds very comparable to those heard from 3.14 onwards in this record - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sis5aSw2TCA.

Any ideas? Think it was British and not a well known series like Sesame Street, but I could be wrong.

Presumably a schools programme, shown in the mornings.

ITV in the late 80s had "Maths is Fun", before that it was "Basic Maths" (circa 1980-1985) and there are a fair few clips of that on youtube. BBC had "Maths File" in the early 80s (which is the one I remember) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2SGeMUCf1M
