Skirting the line between utter chaos and calculated genius, a description which I suppose encapsulates the band's career in its entirety.

Just discovered this band. No idea how the bass player is holding that down it's fucking hard to do that with spot on timing. Love the Rhodes piano too.

Loving the way the keys player sniffs in the funk.

This is the best scat singing I have ever heard. Astounding:

I wouldn't really know a Fleetwood Mac song from a Macc Lads song, and I imagine this must have been posted previously within this very thread, but fucking hell this is really impressive:

Sidenote - the keys player (Woody Goss) is the composer. He wrote it with bassist Joe Dart in mind.

Thanks for the Vulfpeck recommendation. I've really enjoyed pretty much everything I've heard there. Like a more straight ahead Weather Report!

I know there are classical guitar players around the world who could probably do that playing in their sleep, but the way he is genuinely emoting the vocals, whilst playing like that is fuck impressive.

"Buckingham never took guitar lessons and does not read music." so says his wikipedia page, quite proudly. the man's gifted, for sure, but he must've had some guidance.

Worth noting the delay is doing a lot of work there, but it's still great.

Pulp - Disco 2000 Live in 2012

I'm not going to say astonishing but those reunion shows looked great.  Jarvis appears to be having a whale of a time dancing, jumping and posing all over the stage and the crowd love it.

Did anyone see these reunion shows?  I'm gutted I didn't go to any

I saw them in Hyde Park in 2011.

They were really, really superb, and as you say, we're having the time of their lives (apart from Russell Senior who Jarvis accused of being a "miserable bastard" when he wouldn't join them for the final bow after the encore).

Here's the set list if you'd like to imagine how utterly wonderful it was.

Also, the support acts weren't bad.
Grace Jones did an absolute barnstorming set and I now get to say "I've seen Roky Erickson" to anyone that'll listen!

I saw their last gig at Sheffield Arena in December 2012. it was great (I'm surprised they never released it with that film about them) but I was under the impression until now that this was the only time they'd ever taken a bow at the end. I missed it cos I was in the bog though. Russell had bailed out by then anyway, so they didn't have to drag him onto the stage.

Not as good as they were when I saw them in 1982 though. Before they'd sold out. Etc etc.

By the way, Jarvis's name came up in conversation today (about names for cats) and one of the women I was talking to (she's in her mid-20s) had never heard of him. She did remember the name Pulp though. I keep forgetting that they're no longer superstars.

yes yes I know it's probably been tweaked to within an inch of it's life but is sooo lush https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPBirt1YhuM&feature=youtu.be

I fell into a hole and have watched this (and the rest of the videos available) a few times this week...

Devin Townsend playing Kingdom. If the metal tone throws you off, just give it some time until he starts singing. The vocal changes get me every time.

The singing doesn't even begin until 7 minutes in. One of the great doom/stoner live experiences, a fucking astonishing band to witness in full flow.

ABBA - Voules Vous

I've no idea when this performance is from but they're "live" (miming) and astonishing.

The women are basically naked, Benny is sporting a black eye, and all concerned look intimidated, as if in thrall to a group of local gangsters (always just out of shot).

If you told me it was filmed in a danish basement in 1979, as a prelude to a snuff movie, I'd believe you.

A decent demonstration of how Oh Sees doing an extended version of 'The Dream' is always a fuckin party.

I love Yussef Dayes' precise but animated intensity on the drums in this, and Mansur Brown's guitar, particularly when it takes flight around 4:40. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwVtIPeYIeQ

Apols if anyone has already posted this but Elvis Costello doing That Day is Done at Linda McCartney's memorial gig is one of the most moving performances I can think of.
