Are these any good?



I dropped £150 on this while in a fit of pique and am considering returning it. What is it for? What does it do? It doesn't seem to have any purpose whatsoever. There's only room for one thing with no purpose in my flat, and we all know who that is.

If your computer sound card is shit or you have some particularly good headphones, it'll make some difference to run your music through a DAC. If you have an excellent pair of headphones and a dedicated headphone amp, it'll make a more noticeable difference. If you're running IEMs through it, or average headphones, it's not necessary and will make a negligible - even sometimes negative - difference.
