There's been a few threads in the past talking about finding new ways to listen to new music etc. so I thought I'd chuck this idea into the air & see if it's of interest.

Every week or so I grab a chunk of newly acquired vinyl & give it a spin / stream it via Mixlr. Nothing slick, just a single turntable & whatever is in the pile, both sides, played until I have to go & do something more important. I get a regular handful of people listening to the streams so I thought it might be a good idea to start a #nowplaying thread, where I (& hopefully anyone else who fancies streaming their odds & sods) post details of each record as it is played with a link to listen. You never know, you might catch something you like or, I also hope, someone will have a stab themselves & stream some of their new buys.

The second part of Funsho Ogundipe's Afrobeat Chronicles. His band Ayetoro, is based in London with another setup in Lagos, where he is backed by different musicians. Funsho has diligently carved out his own sound, with a strong nod to Fela and Tony Allen's Afrobeat rhythms, but with a laid-back jazz element to his songwriting.
