Its great what you go on about when you're bored & waiting to go home.

Turns out that quite a few people in our office were die hard New Romantics & helped destroy the ozone layer with big hair.

Then i noticed 6music are doing a New Romantic day tomorrow, which looks really quite good.

Any Duranies out there or were you into the Spands?

I was a Duranie, much to the ridicule of my friends who still wore The Specials T-shirts and skanked to Madness at the local youthy disco.

I remember seeing then on TOTP doing Planet Earth and having conficting thoughts of 'yeah that sounds great, but they are wearing make up and frilly shirts' it was a very confusing time to be a teenager.

I like the 'Wild Boys' video, with Simon Le Bon strapped to a sort of windmill thing which revolves into a paddling pool containing the world's shittest monster.  I dimly remember there being some sort of shit monster in the video for 'Union Of The Snake' as well. I liked Duran Duran as a kid not for their music, but for the relatively high monster content of their videos.
