lee hurst.

didn't he just jack it all in over ill health? or am i mixing him up with someone else.

I saw Lee Hurst on Twitter the other day when I browsing the account of an absolute arsehole I hate. He's now a massive UKIP enthusiast, going on and on about Europe and immigrants and how much he hates liberals.

Quote
I seriously despise liberals. They would sacrifice lives for a warm fuzzy feeling of "Aren't I good?"
They should all be given their own country and then we can sit back and watch all of the criminals head towards them for the easy touch. That would be very funny.

He's still got it!

Peter Serafanowicz.  Did one good sketch series, then...?

hah he's literally in my ear as I read that, Pratchett/ Gaiman's 'Good Omens' on iplayer. He had a speaking role in Guardians of Galaxy, having tiny parts in big shit films probably pays more.  Married to Sarah Alexander too! pretty sure I had a wank over her when she did a shit on someone's floor in some... thing, he can't say the same for me.

Moyles basically took early retirement a few years ago. He presumably wanted to spend more time with his money.

Nah, he’s done a lot of celebrity appearances on TV and tried relaunching his career using YouTube last year. There was involvement in an tax avoidance scheme, which sadly didn’t work out.

Pat "The Darth Vader of the Master Fader" Sharp. He was the king of telly in the 1990s and then he wasn't. Don't give me any rubbish about him never being a big celebrity because he was A List son, A List.

I knew about the tax avoidance scheme, but other than that I thought he'd fucked off for good. Wishful thinking, clearly.

You mean it didn't cause controversy that got him loads of free publicity?

I remember looking up what happened to Roy Jay a while back, and eventually finding an old forum where some mate of his revealed that he'd eked out a squalid living in Benidorm for a few years before eventually drinking himself to death.

If you Google CaB and his name, it's told in several threads, including a post from a Verbwhore who saw Kay live, that ended with "Then he got his nob out and started singing."

Kay is really great though, but thoroughly unpredictable, and happiest when improvising at the spur of the moment. I've seen him about seven or eight times over the last few years, as a friend co-ran a night with him, and only once did he die on his arse. Oh, and for the record, I've never seen his nob, but I have been all too close to his testicles on three separate occasions.

Paul Squires.

He blotted his copybook by brokering deals for his own TV special with both the BBC and Central TV. The two shows got made and went out within months of each other. Both stations were not happy.

Shortly after, he disappeared into the world of cruise-ships, panto and relative obscurity.  Hardly, anything about him online but there's a nice interview from 2013.

I prefer her when she's being a sexy dancing wolf.

I'm not a huge fan of improvising to be honest - I think it can too often descend into whimsy, surrealism, animal references or location specific easy laughs ("so we're in Wolverhampton - I saw a hen party earlier - no wonder its nicknamed 'Wolves'"). But Kay is fucking amazing live. I've seen him twice and his act was the most balls-on-the-line risky and bold performance I have ever seen. And utterly hilarious. Jaw-ache and ventolin good.

Wasn't Lee Hurst a big lefty at one point? I'm sure he claimed as much when he was featured in Q magazine's Who The Hell.

Kevin Bishop is surely a prime candidate for this thread - his sketch show was a big hit, he had lots of praised acting roles, and then he all but disappeared, bar some rote Radio 4 work.

Obligatory Yanks: You've Lindsey Lohan and Tera Patrick going from hot and at least marginally bankable with Lohan, to haggard and utterly desolate thanks to the cocaine/drinking/sunshine/dangerous driving combo binge they got on.

Kramer of course, vanished from the Earth post Seinfeld only since notable for turning up screaming 'n**ger' at a crowd.

Does Britney Spears count? I mean I know she'll still be raking it in but she's like the archetype of this, fell right the fuck off everyone's radar as soon as she got a cock up her, went mental/babby/fat and has never (and will never) bounce back from it.

Kind of, at least on these shores, but he buggered off to the US and did a sitcom with Rebel Wilson recently, though it only lasted a season. He's nothing lined up since then, so who knows this might be the end for him now. It sounds mean, but I kind of hope so, he was rubbish in The Muppet's Treasure Island.

Tera Patrick the porn star or Tara Reid the train wreck?

Gillian McKeith really screwed her TV career by acting like a twat on I'm A Celebrity. She had it all and then gone.

On a similar note Richard Blackwood never really recovered from having colonic irrigation on a reality show. Before that he had his own show followed by his own sitcom. Someone told me the other day he's on Eastenders now so maybe he's bounced back.

Talulah, really!

Justin Lee Collins. Not a comedian I know but boy did he fuck off sharpish.

Now hangs about London hoping that FHM still have a tiny bit of space to fill.

Not to mention being supposedly convicted and outcast from comedy after exposing himself during a failed show in Jersey. Then there's his singing career.

She's going to be on the new Giorgio Moroder album, which may help her publicity (and credibility?)-wise - otherwise, she seems destined to be in a Las Vegas residency for the rest of her days.

She was also featured on Miley Cyrus' Bangerz album, John K even did the tour video.
