That's really nice! I still slightly hope that Joe gets sick of directing and goes back to the double act. It just seems an incredible amount of time to spend with only 2 films to come out of it, neither all that amazing (admittedly I've not seen the 2nd one)

2nd one was shite. 👍

ProvanFan

They're alright, just nowhere near Speeding on the Needlebliss.

Mister Six

Attack the Block was great fun. Not seen the King Arthur one yet but it's on my HBO Max queue.

Thanks for listening.

Drygate

Poor old Jupp getting blanked for 3 years!

His voice is bloody annoying so I can see why Buckles left it at the bottom of the barrel.

Pranet

Another person here who liked Attack the Block but hasn't seen the other one.

IIRC Attack the Block is all right but I don't remember much of it. Kid Who Would be King is CITV bollocks. (Sorry Joe I still think you are lovely)

You know the old Adam and Joe Text the Nation jingle? There's always been a bit in it I don't understand due to my shit ears:

"Text the nation!"
"What if I don't want to?"
"Text the nation!"
"But amusing email, is that a problem?"

I'm sure he's not saying "but amusing email". What is it he says? I've been going through the old shows and have heard this dozens of times by now and I cannot WORK IT OUT

Sean Ymphs

"Got to use the email, is that a problem?"

frajer

I always heard it as "But I'm using email!" (Is that a problem?)

Also Kid Who Would Be King is indeed a bad film.

Sean Ymphs

Hmm now I'm listening harder it is a mystery

Almost as bad as the Crap Accent jingle

Oh that's got to be it. I think the pronunciation is a little bit odd, he says "em" instead of "I'm" so it sounds like "amusing".

iamcoop

"But I'm using email. Is that a problem?
It doesn't matter TEXT"

Not sure what all you lovely lot are hearing, always seemed obvious to me..

kevinq

The jingle for Traveling Tales rhymes "travelin' tales" with "travel entails" which is literally impossible to distinguish.

iamcoop

The old XFM jingles are great. Whenever someone uses the word 'competition' my brain immediately plays

"COMPETITION TIME! YOU CAN WIN A DVD OR TICKETS TO A SHOW...."

could definitely just be my shit ears. Once I'd heard "I'm using" as "amusing" it poisoned my ears for ever and could not unhear

sutin

I didn't like Attack The Block. I refused to sympathise with muggers.

Mister Six

Even though their whole character arc concerns realising that they shouldn't be mugging people and that there are bigger concerns than who is trespassing on their "block"?

lankyguy95

Quite enjoyed the episode with Joe Lycett.

phes

A lot of love for ads but had to turn off the last two as they were very boring

But that's the way, a-ha, a-ha, Joe Lycett. And if you don't Lycett, you can sling yer 'ook.

like the changing of the seasons or the tides of the sea,
But here's the one that's driving you beserk,
what the bloody hell's that second word?
A-la la la la, la la la la la...

Mister Six

Buckles' impersonation of the Freakonomics podcast guy in the new Squarespace ads is uncanny. Mrs Six, who's just gotten into Freakonomics, actually thought it was that bloke at first.

When I told her what was going on, she said "Wow, [Buxton] is very, very talented in a lot of useless ways."
