That intro always reminded me of the intro to 'Why Don't You Eat Carrots?' by Faust. Don't know if Kev ever had any Krautrock leanings....

One that amuses / annoys me is The Endless Season by Tangerine Dream, on which the one minute intro track is really rather excellent, and the remaining ten track album is terrible.
