BBC iplayer app - anyone else having issues with the app?

So it seems that the only way to watch iplayer content is to either download the iplayer app or the bbc media app, you can't just stream content direct from the site if you have a tablet.

Neither of the apps get great reviews on the Google store. I've used the BBC Media Player app to listen to a radio programme but it freezes after three seconds when I try to watch television. I tried downloading the iplayer app and the same issue happened.

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this?

I see 4ondemand has an app as well but it's not that well rated either. Shouldn't the BBC be ensuring that everyone can access the iplayer?

Might be helpful if you say what you are trying to watch it on.

I've not had any problems FWIW.
