Alright, might have been a bit hasty in my language but I reckon I sussed the form of this place a while back. I've visited that comedy chat and seen the jealous shit people write in there.  There's a really panicky attitude towards people 'doing stuff' which obviously stems from the fact that people can't do it themselves. Or are too lazy to bother. Not singling you out or anythin though.

Way too negative. Wrong attitude.

Yeah, when something's crap, they don't hold back but there's a difference between being encouraging and just lying. It's best if people are honest. Probably some people do just say something's shite out of spite sometime's but we've got more good eggs than arseholes here. I haven't looked at the site, it's probably shite ;)

That bit raised a smile.  The rest of it is very weak.  Constant references to McFly aren't really the stuff of comedy gold.

I don't think anyone has 'a duty to support websites like this'.  The vast majority of posters on here don't go round wanting to spout bile at things.  They want to be provided with links to websites that are funny (ideally in a sticky thread at the top of the forum that you couldn't really have missed) so they can laugh.  This is a forum of people who are fans of comedy.  Most people won't go there anyway because of the spam post and they'd not be missing out on anything really.  All the half-arsed pop culture references might appeal to some people, but it's unlikely to be people who are fans of the likes of Chris Morris & Armando Iannucci & Peter Baynham and their ilk.

It isn't mine. I don't know any of the people involved. Havig said that, I'd love to contribute if they're accepting contributions. ;)

I love it. It's silly and daft. It has fun with the music business without being negative towards people in that business. I appreciate free of speech obviously it's just that sometimes you can see into the soul of people who automatically criticise new things and it's not a pretty sight.

I agree there is a negative attitude on this site to most things new in comedy, particularly amongst all the people I hate, but praise is given to the occasional gem.

Well, I did look at the site. The first thing I noticed is that the strikeout tag was used to create a joke. As my mouse pointer slowly wandered towards the close button it passed over the "CLICK HERE FOR x" links and some really bad CSS caused the page to wobble. I hit Alt-f4 to speed up the process.

if someone posts on this forum regularly, and doesn't just sign up to spam it, then people are horribly supportive, no matter what wank you're doing. trust me, i've "done stuff" (and some of it was particularly poor), and gotten nothing but help, love and support from people here.

web advice, design advice, cd-making advice, compliments, folk turning up to stuff i put on, people taking an interest even if they're in another city, cats from here posting on my messageboard.
