This made me crack up, especially his 'oh no' at 54 seconds.

It's very hard to say why he's so damn funny.

Hah, "We were dirty Gypsies!"

"I'm a Gypsy for Godsake, I can say it? I can say the `G' word!"

Norm claims to hate meta comedy but there's something very meta about his delivery. Like he's mocking comedy.

I don't think it's meta, though you could interpret it that way. I think Norm is incredibly shy and emotionally a bit of a mess I reckon, so when he's onstage or on TV he's constantly conflicted between his persona as a stand-up funny guy, and his own real self who would be petrified of being in front of that many people. It's almost like he's flitting from one to the other every few seconds, so it comes across as if he's questioning himself, constantly.

Also why Gilbert Gottfried is sort of similar, and shuts his eyes when he's onstage, because he's terrified.

I rewatched the Mangrate part of the Swardson episode about five times. His randomly hoarse-voiced mispronunciation of 'cast i-ron' fucking kills me.

I've just been watching Norm videos on YouTube all day.
He is I think the funniest fucker alive. I don't often laugh just as hard when I hear the same joke for the umpteenth time, but Norm's delivery never grows old. He's such a great story teller too.
When is Norm MacDonald Live coming back? Please tell me it's soon, I'm just dying for some more Norm.

Recent stand-up set from Norm on some TV show at Gotham Comedy Club https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3PpS8ZZouM

Great as ever. He could probably put a new stand-up special out every month.

He might be my favourite living human.

Compilation of Norm on various morning shows. Sorry if it's been posted before. I fucking love him.

His segments on Dennis Miller's radio show are among my favourite Norm moments. There's a 2 hour long compilation floating around on YouTube, it's great.
His ventriloquist bit in particular is hysterically funny. I've listened to it so many times and it always gets massive lols from me.

Also I recently found he was on Greg Fitzsimmons podcast for a 2 parter and it's pretty great. Thought I'd mention it as it's a bit rare. Might post the link later.

EDIT: Both eps here. He gatecrashes and takes over the entire show, the booked guest leaves soon after.

Hadn't seen this before.
Holy shit, I'm at the jelly roll bit. This is sublime!!!

Sam

I love that little pause and smirk he does after he says something drily preposterous.

Rolf Lundgren

There's been a lot of Norm uploaded to YouTube recently by people who look like spam accounts with bizarre names but I'm not complaining. Here's a compilation of calls with Dennis Miller that goes over 3 hours!:

I think I was originally pointed to it from here but the Gilbert Gottfried episodes of the NM podcast are utterly fantastic.

Laughing so hard at much of this - the ventriloquist stuff! - my sides are literally hurting.

"Have you been drinking bathtub gin?"

hedgehog90

"Listen Marge, that story about that dead son of yours, it's a bit of a yawner. I don't know if you've heard Lucy's story about uh, losing change on the bus this morning but uh, you might wanna take a few pointers."

A gif I made that encapsulates simply Norm's magic:

Sorry for spamming the thread.

mr. logic

To be honest, I tend to enjoy his podcasts despite the guests.  It can't just be me that finds Gilbert insufferable?

Norm is the fucking man, though.

I can see how Gilbert's voice and laughter can get grating, but generally he's quite brilliant.

On another note, I didn't realise Norm did such a great impression of Super Dave https://youtu.be/czg_mANOZYs?t=12m50s

Gilbert's double bill was the best of them, in my opinion. A lot of it is comedian's comedian stuff though, which you either love or hate.

Judging by tweets like this...

@kipaddotta I was wondering if you would consider being a guest on my video podcast show?

...and several tweets to comedians asking to DM them, seems like he's bringing the show back.

But, on the other hand, he also tweeted this:

@rickygervais Can't wait for Life on the Road, this generation's Spinal Tap. Must be very proud. Congratulations.

So he might just be going mental.

mr. logic

Norm seems incredibly popular thoughout the comedy world.  Could easily see him getting genuine heavy hitters- Letterman, Murphy- to do the podcast.  It's fantastic news because his podcast is very funny indeed.

No matter how many times I watch it, I always laugh at Norm's delivery of "9/11" here https://youtu.be/uL5ZX2nPNek?t=364

I've played that clip so many times, shown it to others even.
I probably look mental obsessing over him as I do but he must be the funniest man alive.

Excellent news! It recently seemed like NML was never coming back.
I can't wait.

Mr Faineant

Rumor has it that there is a set of Tweets from Norm that were done during a flight that are hilarious. I'd like to read them, but find myself in the unfamiliar situation of not being able to locate them. Can anyone help me in my search?

lankyguy95

I've watched the entirety of this video twice in the last twenty four hours https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3IMdOguZaU
