not sure how he prefers to be addressed as he is transexual

"She". She's done a video or two about it, as people ask in the comments, but then she has to take the videos down because of the abuse and people yelling about feminazi sjw tumblr trans fag bullshit and why doesn't she just talk about games.

My partner has very little interest about retro gaming, but will happily watch an hour of Kim Justice talking about obscure amiga titles. Great channel.

Good call, his stuff is really good. The fact that he doesn't oversell the creepiness makes it all the more unsettling when creepy things do happen.

I'm halfway through the one where him and his mate are in the abandoned meat factory. Jesus, it's horrific, genuinely like a real-life Silent Hill level. What possessed him to go there three times?

I think they had to go back three times because the place was so big. That moment when they come across that random car in the first meat factory was pretty creepy, they couldn't quite work out how someone had managed to drive the car there. I was half expecting to see a dead body sitting in it.

One such fella is wetmovie1, who has a form of learning difficulty, and can be a bit juvenile with gay jokes etc, yet has such passion for film that I can't help but be drawn in to his videos. His film taste can actually be pretty terrible, but he's so likeable that it's really not an issue. He has a staggering amount of DVDs and blu-rays. An insane amount. And yet he's back in the shops every week, buying more an more

What's fun also is his various "Out and About" videos, that usually involve his mate Gabriel, who's quite the strange little character himself. He says "an all that" at the end of nearly every sentence, and never actually seems to put his hand in his own pocket for anything

Been getting into wetmovie1's videos and find it easy to watch a bunch of them. He has so much enthusiasm and doesn't really care about filming wherever he likes. The ones with him and his mates are the best ones, especially where Gabriel is involved, a man who never intentionally makes any sense. Just really enjoyable stuff and all that.

There's a few he did with 90skidforever and she's an odd character, a woman who seems to feign an interest in all things from the 1990s because it makes for a good YouTube channel. Maybe she's genuine about it but I don't get that impression at all, especially compared to Brendan who is the most open and honest guy you're ever likely to meet.

Been a fan of h3h3 for a long time, but their recent content stinks. What happened?

Currently quite addicted to Louis Rossmann. An independent unauthorised Mac repair guy who repairs boards at surface mount component level, but also has some very interesting general life advice/opinion videos.

It's quite eye opening to the shenanigans Apple get up to as well  (and I've been a fan of theirs for ages)

A MyLittlePony account that happens to do some of the funniest mini videos on youtube. If nothing else it shows that no matter what you say acuse 4chan of they will make a point of pride to be far far worse.

Thanks will check that account out. I've seen the guy's animations I think, I recognise the style from the Bronycan pirates video which was brilliant

I'd deffo recommend content cop if you like H3H3. Have you followed the recent drama between H3H3 and Leafy? Pretty interesting.

The thread comes full circle: the Content Cop episode on Leafy has been planned out much better than H3H3's attempt at calling him out. I doubt Leafy will do much more than mention it in passing and shrug it off, but it's a great video nonetheless https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4XahX7cuU8

It's because they moved to LA and they've not had the time recently. I do know what you mean though, they've definitely fallen off.

BritishHobo

See, I'd say it's the moment they actually bothered engaging with any of this YouTube drama bollocks and so became a part of it. They were good when they were on the fringes succinctly taking the piss out of people who harangued strangers on the street for YouTube views, but the moment anyone gets embroiled in this utterly embarrassing, tedious Leafy, Keemstar blah blah boring playground fucking bullshit, I immediately lose interest. No, I don't think I do want to watch a twenty minute video of you talking about why another YouTuber is shit because he's embroiled in YouTube drama with other dramatic YouTube drama personalities FUCKING HELL IT'S SO CLIQUEY AND INCESTUOUS AND BUM-GAZEY IT'S SO SHITTING TEDIOUS

Say what you will about the twee middle-class English YouTubers you had a few years ago, existing for the primary purpose of giving American girls on Tumblr something to think about when they masturbate, but at least they never fucking clogged up the internet with all this protracted, relentless, self-indulgent schoolyard argument bollocks.

Albert Soviets

I find myself strangely drawn to Bikeman4U's live streams.

He's, as the name might suggest, a bike repair shop. who streams live on Saturday afternoon.

I dunno why I watch it, 'cos to me a bike is just a better way of getting about than walking, but for some reason I am hooked.

Claude the Racecar Driving Rockstar Super Sleuth

This channel, on which a plummy voiced Scotsman dissects various electronic gizmos, makes for strangely compelling viewing.

Twed

This video of him showing how electricity is fatal by passing current across his heart is really something: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wR6g38Pxwog

Anyone wanting some of the best made videos about retro games should check out Retrocore.

The guy has only got around 7,000 subs, I can't see why...his game comparison videos of different formats are excellent.

StuglePStugleton

Been watching a lot of SovietWomble's "Bullshittery" series, very funny. The camaraderie on the team is evident as is the pure ineptitude of their computer game skills. Highly recommend the DayZ videos.

Oh yeah, especially when you add ZF Cyanide into the mix.

I don't know if you've already seen this but this is some genius tactics on the part of Cyanide about 8 and half minutes in.

I cannot stop watching this Japanese guy, who is called はいじぃ迷作劇場  for all I know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0JXv3ORGSo

Everything he eats is my perfect food. Sushi, onigiri, fatty thin-sliced meats in broth. I find it really cathartic to not understand much of what he's saying, just enjoying the food and saying "hmmm!" enthusiastically.

Space ghost

I like total biscuit's output but once you notice just how often he says 'and all that sort of thing' in his videos it can be quite distracting.

ILurk

I tend to watch a lot of gaming related content despite the fact I don't play games myself.

Funhaus's Demo Disk is a series I watch. They install old pc demo disks and play whatever's on there.

Here's today's

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FYMSMtgH9g

Easy Allies are an interesting group consisting of Brandon Jones, co-founder of GameTrailers and a bunch of his ex-employees. They're a weird outlier of positivity and genuine enthusiasm amongst YouTube's often negative gaming community.

Here's them reacting to the God of War announcement at this year's E3. I've timestamped the video but I reccomend watching the full thing.

Can I just say, I watched those Dan Bell videos and was hooked - I had to watch his entire Dead Mall series after that. For some reason, I'm a bit obsessed with abandoned or really dated buildings, and his videos hit the spot for me. I find it fascinating finding out how once-popular destinations became, well, less than popular, and seeing the results of their downfall.

I also like Kim Justice and bigclivedotcom, as previously mentioned. Big Clive's brother has a rather good YouTube channel about whisky if you're into that sort of thing.

One channel that I haven't seen mentioned is Billy Coore's channel, Roadgeek, which, in spite of the name, isn't actually about roads, and is more a sort of retro computing thing, with a particular focus on Windows machines of the mid-'90s. That's not everybody's bag, but I'm quite nerdy in that way and enjoy watching people mucking about with Windows 95, for instance. He speaks about the subject with quite a bit of passion, and for most subjects he speaks about, there's some kind of personal link there, and he tends to share his experiences with whatever he's talking about. He's done things like connecting to the old AOL dial-up service long after it went out of common use, and has an authentic PC setup circa 1995 which appears in a lot of his videos. There's also some rather off-the-wall stuff in the channel (such as Windows Me and the McRib, two things you won't usually hear in the same sentence), a lot of which seems more like a slice of the man's life rather than anything too pre-planned. All quite interesting, anyway.

Been watching a bit of Rubin Report https://www.youtube.com/user/RubinReport

Whilst he does somewhat pander to the "tired of political correctness" kind of people (the Trump brigade etc) he generally does a decent job of calmly listening to both sides of the left/right/up/down crazy political world and going with an overall objective of level-headed rational discussions.  I come out of watching these videos feeling better informed on people's positions rather than just angry about them.

It's because they moved to LA and they've not had the time recently. I do know what you mean though, they've definitely fallen off.

It's the 'they' part that's the problem, in wanting his very cute but camera rubbish wife to be involved (in front of camera) he's diluted the sting of what he does, too cosy...part of me admires what he wanted...but it's cramped his style.

That's the reason they've left Ethan and Hila to rot and focussed on H3H3 and Hila is mainly shutting up these days.

MY WIFE loves Ethan and Hila only really when they're together. A video without Hila on the sidelines isn't worth watching for her. So different demographics and all that.

I like her too...but I can see what she does to the 'comedy'...it's just cosier.

Twed

Oh, definitely. That's what she's looking for in the vids. I don't find them particularly funny anyway, some of them make me a little uncomfortable. The only ones I've truly enjoyed were the cosier ones, like when they're opening fan mail.

marquis_de_sad

I don't really like the ones when it's just Ethan with a static camera. I prefer when Hila's behind the camera filming him, which ends up being 90% Ethan with Hila piping up now and then. She's best (in comedy terms) as the straightman behind the camera who deflates some of Ethan's grandiosity. That set up also allows Ethan to get up and walk around mid-rant, which makes him look slightly ridiculous, which is funnier (to me). If he's just another bloke in front of a camera on a tripod whining about feminism then what's the point?

Can't believe I'm sticking up for Ethan Klein...'ranting about feminism'...he has to my knowledge never done that, he has only 'ranted' about stupid people taking their new age cult of social justice a 'bit' too far.

And for me...he's much funnier on his own, Hila has her talents, editing being one...but presenting is not one of them.

Come on now, the guy makes pretty good underwear.

Anyways, YouTube has its fair share of boring people narrating SPOOKY STORIES THAT WILL MAKE YOU BILL HICKS but as far as I'm concerned nobody has topped thelittlefears for being downright unsettling even with cliched/well-worn stuff. It's largely down to the soothing, detached tone she has, which really stands out when paired with your traditional internet horror narration. The channel seems to go on intermittent, lengthy hiatuses but the stuff there so far is pretty enjoyable.
