It's bullshit. Netflix is too managed. Give us everything for a monthly fee. For fucks sakes.

At the moment, it's a lot more costly to purchase the rights to and host/stream movies than music.  That's why.

I imagine what's more likely to happen in the future is for studios to set up their own streaming/subscription services, like a lot of TV networks have done.  You never know, though, the movie studios are seemingly a lot less willing to abandon the old model than other entertainment industries.
