Sorry about the Daily Heil link, but:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3759906/Labour-suspends-member-party-posted-love-FOO-FIGHTERS-Facebook.html

QuoteLabour has suspended a new member from the party and denied a vote in the leadership election after she posted about her love of rock band Foo Fighters on Facebook.

Catherine Starr, a supporter of Jeremy Corbyn, was shocked to receive a letter from the party's General Secretary Iain McNicol telling her that following a vetting procedure she was being refused full membership as she had 'shared inappropriate content on Facebook'.

It said this related to a post on March 5 when she had shared a clip of Dave Grohl's band and wrote 'I f****** love the Foo Fighters'.

That day Mrs Starr, 33, had also shared a friend's inoffensive poster about animal free cosmetics and a cartoon about veganism.

Today Mrs Starr, who previously voted Liberal Democrat, said she felt she was a victim of the National Executive Committee's 'over-zealous vetting procedure designed to stop supporters of Jeremy Corbyn voting for him'.

Her suspension will help Mr Corbyn's right-hand man John McDonnell in his attempt to uncover what he described as a 'rigged purge' of left-wing supporters by Labour officials.

Somebody has explained to me they are probably using some primitive trawling software, using people's sign-up emails.

Weren't people being asked for the Twitter IDs and FB pages recently and this was flagged (here) at the time as info you would be wise not to give them?

Danger Man

You can't be in the Labour Party if you like the Foo Fighters?

British politics will be a better place when they finally destroy themselves.

Perhaps they thought they meant the Fugees, who they constantly mistake for the Bee Gees.

Maybe it's the original Foo Fighters they hate, the WWII UFOs.

Makes as much sense.

I'll tell you what I hate.  Food Fighters.

Look at them.

Don't they even know that there are people starving in Africa?

Dr Rock

So after the BBC, the Guardian and the rest of the media report that Owen Smith appears to be lying about the amount of middle east war refugees swamping his constituency in Wales, then the BBC, the Guardian and the rest of the media (except for the Daily Mail) are going to report this example of a Labour member being part of a anti-Corbyn purge that seemingly is based on a sweary pro-Foo Fighters Tweet. Right?

Queneau

There needs to be some comeback on this purging. Michael Foster is still safe, is he? Cunts. Iain McNicol should get his head out of his arse and fuck off back to behind the hotel desk in Home Alone 2 or wherever the fuck he came from. CUNTS.

Fuck the Foo Fighters, this Art Bears song pretty much sums up this shitefest:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PEYgXNYEeU

QuoteI saw a lion and a snake
Each killed the other.
From their bodies bred
A horde of
Scorpions
That overran the world –
Their venom was
Democracy.

BlodwynPig

I fucking love the Art Bears, and Art Zoyd, and Matching Mole.

"BANNED FROM LABOUR PARTY"

Oooh, I do love that Gary Barlow, he's a dream.

The nearest I can offer are the Care Bears, Pink/Keith Floyd and Adrian Mole.

QuoteJeremy, I agree with you that there is no place for personal abuse in politics, but, you know, you're not the only socialist in the village. [Responding to laughter] Well I don't know why you're laughing. Jeremy's been, you know, pretty 'fruity' with his language on occasion. Perhaps I'll quote you bits later on.

I can see why our resident clown likes him.

QuoteOK Jeremy, well in that case I'll just quote this to you. You know, I got attacked a bit earlier this week for using the word 'lunatic', for which I've apologised. Jeremy Corbyn called a Tory MP a lunatic in 1992, and he used the word again in parliament in 1993. So you know, I think there's sauce for the goose and sauce for the gander, Jeremy. You've been just a bit 'fruity' yourself on occasion.

1992 and 1993, there.

Seriously though - can anyone tell me the big background to the word 'fruity' that I'm missing?  Was there a corporate office video thing that Blairites saw back in the day?

BlodwynPig

He comes across as a sneery bullying pillock in those quotes above. What a twit.

TheFalconMalteser

Is that a parody or did he really say fruity?!

Guys this is HUGE,

You're Owen Smith's biggest fan in the world, yet you don't know.  Says it all.

Lads I been busy.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Surely no-one seeking to remove Corbyn could defend either the illegal barring of new Labour members from this leadership election or this vetting process based on allegiance to 'Labour values', something which given the current state of play is clearly a flexible thing, or at least a broad church. I would be interested to read how many free market disciples have been barred from the process.

Anyone who valued the democratic process would find it abhorrent, whether they were going to win or lose.

Just like I find it abhorrent UKIP only have 1 MP despite millions of people voting for them. I don't think that's democracy even if it is expedient for my own interests.

It seems the anti-Corbyn lot just go a bit quiet about this. They'll be back another time to remind us they think he is useless. Useless! They will say.

Didn't see it on the news at all, but there was an important story about a really big lobster.

TheFalconMalteser

A broad church that includes the vile demagogue and PWOPPA NAWTEE grade a wanker George Galloway!

Get this man Jeremy out of Labour! Out, grotty, stupid, ineffectual petty man.

Perhaps they don't give a shit, or alternatively find it amusing that you are calling for brand-new members who support your guy to be allowed in on the nod while demanding long-term members who do not support your guy are purged.
