Do I buy a Chromebook?

Need something for which to get some bloody work done, in terms of writing, in terms of a laptop.

It doesn't need to be powerful, but I don't want it to be any shitter than is necessary.

I'm this close to pushing the button and just bloody well buying a Chromebook.

Is this a big mistake? Should I push the button on a different type of laptop, in terms of buying it?

If all you want it for is typing, I expect it'd be fine.

Yeah, I mean that's primarily what I'll use it for, but it still costs money and I'd want to optimise the computing-power/buck ratio.

Also, I've not used google docs, so I'm slightly concerned that it might be a pain in the arse.

Dunno about Chromebook specs per se, but you can dualboot Ubuntu on there if you need more traditional applications in parallel with Google's web apps.
