recording a phone call on iphone5

I am investigating how to record a phone call on an iphone5 and it seems quite difficult.

Either third party apps are required where the call is routed through those servers.

Or you put your phone on speaker and use a second device to record.

Is there no easier (and surreptitious way to do it)?

I use 'call recorder' on my Android. It's free. When it comes to the iPhone my girlfriend was looking but could only find that and she had to pay. Sorry I was of no use. If it helps, the app is really good and automatically records everything in high quality.

or is that just similarly named. The comments make it sound shit.

Mostly it seems that unless you're jail broken you need to use a third party and merge your call.

Easier to use a tape recorder. Crazy.
