(all the versions of this seem really bad quality for some reason)

The N word!

Haha... he sound's a bit like Kermit.

Emma Stone has good comedy chops.

New page blah.

Most of these have just reminded me how much I fucking hate Will Ferrell. That 'I'm doing a comedy performance' face he has just fucking kills everything he's ever in stone dead.

This sketch is great. Especially since Will Ferrell is venting to the point of almost going too far. It looks like nobody involved was expecting

Dude, first post.

I found it a bit weird that so many of the comments seem to be stressing about the fact that he
Spoiler alert
slaps Tina Fey

while being totally cool with the fact that he then
Spoiler alert
stabs a guy to death with a trident

. Oh well, Dworkin 2020!

Creating Saturday Night Live: Cold Open to Monologue Set Change.

I reckon some of the hosts are half-clapping the crew when they come on.

The Fast and the Bi-Curious

An immature sketch playing on the unoriginal concept that super macho blokes might be suppressing gay urges, but it makes me laugh. The timing of the "oh yeahhh" at about a minute in gets me.

I would say that at the point where the
Spoiler alert
guy runs in with a net and a trident we're firmly in the realms of fantasy (maybe even when he says he'll make the stupid black guy drink his piss actually

), whereas telling someone
Spoiler alert
not to take personal calls at work and then slapping her and making her cry is something that might actually happen

Speaking of gay stuff.

This year's Totinos sketch

and last year's Totinos sketch[nb]Uploaded exactly a year ago[/nb]

Are you outside the US and able to see these? And if so, why are they selective about where outside the US you can see these. PS, it won't let me watch

Penfold

Hmmm, I'm in UK and can watch them.

Not sure why they would be picky unless there are international NBC sanctions against the country you are in.

Repeater

Why are they obsessed with impersonating people?

And now for a not-good SNL sketch:

The Chocolate Man.

I dunno. Am I missing something here?

up_the_hampipe

A very dark sketch from last night's show:

World's Most Evil Invention

Glebe

Another Close Encounter.

Not as good as the first one, but a decent attempt. Kate McKinnon is fantastic. Ryan Gosling's not bad at the old humour lark, actually... his opening monologue for this second host appearance is rather nicely played.

up_the_hampipe

Donald Glover hosted last night (with Childish Gambino as musical guest). First full SNL episode I've watched since Chappelle hosted. As usual, hit and miss but there were a few good ones:

Jurassic World court case (nice to see Kenan almost break when Glover pours the water)

Dirty talk

Migos parody

80s Music Video (not quite sure what is going on here, but Glover is funny enough to carry it)

A Kanye Place (has its moments)

The 80s video was parodying this video:

Aye, well I surmised that it was parodying stalkerish 80s pop songs, but the sketch itself is just odd.

A thing I find with a lot of recent SNL sketches (like that Kanye Place sketch) is that I find them quite funny, but they're also quite hackenyed and a bit naff in a way that ultimately defines the sketch. I know that's partly down to adhering to or at least trying to live up to a 40 year old formula (and indeed some classic sketches like Samurai Night Fever also feel that way now), but I think it's also partly due to the 24 hour news cycle of twitter etc. We've heard enough about Kanye's love of Trump by the time they get to doing their sketch about it, and they don't quite add enough of a twist to make up for the over-familiarity.

I did really enjoy this though.

up_the_hampipe

This is simultaneously a very silly and quite smart concept for a sketch from last nights episode:

From last night's Emma Stone hosted show. This was Emma's 4th time hosting and she is one of my favourite actors ever on the show, I include the regular cast members in that. Unfortunately the other sketches were poor but I really like this one.
