I love these kinds of films, is there a proper term for them?

Last King of Scotland
One Hour Photo
Play Misty for me
The Cable Guy
Jed Maxwell

Any recommendations?

Crabwalk

The Gift is a recent classic of the genre. Don't read anything about the plot or characters in advance. And don't expect that, because I've labelled it as belonging to the genre, it'll play out as you predict.

Bacon

Cheers, will check them out.

Would add A Room for Romeo Brass to that list too.

Harry, He's Here to Help
The Guest (which has nice inclusion of Haunted When The Minutes Drag on the soundtrack)
Brimstone and Treacle

Black_Bart

Most of the work of Nick Broomfield. Did you see what I did there?

Bunny Boilers. I like Bunny Boilers

Fatal Attraction
Single White Female
The Stepfather
Sleeping With The Enemy
The Hand That Rocks The Cradle
The Fan

are all reasonable to good ones

The Guest is good, as said. And The Gift is excellent too

As discussed on Good Horror Movies thread.
Mark Duplass's Creep (2014) on Netflix

Brundle-Fly

#9
Enduring Love (2004)
Not terrible but not great. However, the opening fifteen minutes is worth watching. It is excellent  (as is Jeremy Sam's score)

Crabwalk

'Unlawful Entry' is another that springs to mind. Been decades since I saw it though, so not sure if it holds up.

'What About Bob' is a good comic twist on the genre.

Claude the Racecar Driving Rockstar Super Sleuth

Brundle-Fly

Twisted Nerve (1968) is one of the classics of the 'stalker' genre, I suppose?

It also gave us this tune.

If you can stomach Nicole Kidman and boats, then Dead Calm, as that has Nicole Kidman on a boat

DukeDeMondo

Do Teorema and Visitor q and the like belong on such a list? I dare say they do, so lets have them.

Coffin Rock (2009) Subtle Australian creepy indie flick.

De Niro pulls off these kind of roles with ease. See also This Boy's Life

Dr Rock

It just about counts and I rate it as a solid thriller. P2. Only gets 5.9 on IMDb so maybe I'm wrong.

Also Wolf Creek, although I wouldn't call that a classic by any means. The first half is okay before it gets all torture porny.

Single White Female.

Arlington Road?

Arlington Road is great. Had that on video.

Yeah A Room For Romeo Brass is pretty decent too.

Basically the two films I had to contribute when I came into the thread.

Chuck & Buck, liked it a good bit when I was 14, haven't seen it since.

iirc, it was shot on digital though, in 2000, so it looks like absolute shit.
