Rand hated the libertarian movement and Hopkins would not be considered a libertarian by anyone whatsoever.

It's one of those terms that has become a bit overloaded (hence my use of 'hard-libertarians' to try and quickly distinguish) and thus becomes somewhat meaningless unless explicitly nailed down.

I think we all know what the commonality is between the people I mentioned, and can enjoy the irony that none of them are the stand alone ubermensch they dream of.
