The name "Jamie" annoys me inordinately.

Agreed. Suitable only for precocious little shitbags or Scottish people. There's no such thing as an adult Jamie.

New page James.

Minty Stimpson. A woman I met on my trip to Miami around 20 years ago. Probably my favourite name of all time.

I have an English cousin who has named her son Maverick. For fuck's sake. He also has a comedy surname as well (something that you suck on) but I'm not putting that here on the offchance that the poor sod ever puts his name into Google.

There's a lot of several-barrelled surnames reflecting diverse European immigration.  Thus you might get someone called John Calvin Von-Ginkel-Walstein-Murray-Duffy-Jones of Ulm.

This guy:

Morph:  I get it.  I get why you're called Morph.

Chas:  WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU CALLED THAT ARE YOU AMERICAN OR SOMETHING.

If he isn't an American a dick he sure behaves like one.

After the nickleback discussion in Oscillations, I was thinking:

Why are American (men, usually) called things like Chad and Skip? Even when they have a name like David, their second name is Krutunkleson. Silly.

Chad off Nickelback is Canadian.  Him and his girlfriend Avril.

George Carlin has a good routine about "goofy boy's names" though:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oo8CrY_ZfFk

Good old British "Chas" is short for Charlie though, not a name on its own.

Still an absolute blister though.

Imagine somebody introducing himself to you, his hand out to shake yours, his gums all showing from his grinning:  "Alright Bros, ma name's Chas."

Considering your name isn't even Bros you'd shit in his drink later, wouldn't you.  Something wrong with him.

Barron Trump's name annoys me immensely because I can imagine how it came about:

Quote
DONALD TRUMP: I want him to have a name that sounds powerful, but also classy. Maybe, like, kinda British?
MELANIA TRUMP: How about "Baron"?
DONALD TRUMP: Yeah, I like that... [writes down B-A-R-R-O-N]

It's like that time Fergie from out of the Black Eyed Peas did an album called Dutchess [sic], as if people needed any more reasons to hate the Black Eyed Peas.

Yeah but in America 'Emma' is short for a misspelling of 'Ambassador'.
