I'm trying to find out what happened on a specific day in a specific year. I've googled it, but the only ones i can find are on the BBC site and the History Channel site and they don't allow you to specify the year. I'm compiling a "this is your (pathetic) life" thing for my friend's birthday and i want some newsfelch of the day he was born. cheers for any help

thanks for all your work anall, but it's not today i'm looking for. it's 26th February, 1976. specifically. I need the info before the day. I know how to get number 1's, but i wsa looking for news, events etc that happened on the 26th. (and the 22nd while I'm at it)
plus, i'm not that arsed about what happened in 1887 or such like, only what happened or was happening on the day he was born.
