Bobcat Goldthwait's God Bless America is pretty much a parody of the Falling Down-type 'average bloke has a right barney and goes proper narky with everyone' movie.

Slight tangent but I like the genre of Jim Carrey films known as "Unlikely event turns ordinary guy totally wacky!", the main ones being The Mask (good), Liar Liar (good), Me Myself & Irene (good), Bruce Almighty (not good). At a stretch you could include Yes Man and Mr Popper's Penguins (dire).
