Yes, I think so. If you use a title that is completely from and/or referencing some previous work of art then that meaning something to you (hence your decision to borrow from it for yours) I would think would be a given, otherwise why are you doing it? Or at least have a working knowledge of it so you don't look like you just opened a random page in an encyclopaedia and picked your name from there to sound clever, or worse later discover you actually don't like it at all. I can let Hannon off a bit because ''Divine Comedy'' is just a nice phrase by itself (and it suited the band) and it's very old and well known and plenty of people will have heard of it but not read it, but Three Colours Red is meaningless out of context.

Ok, you've convinced me. That makes Three Colours Red doubly pretentious in the true sense of the word.
