I've been trying to catch up with films from last year recently, and thought I would start some threads cos Barry prefers that to just adding to mega-threads.

Anyone see this? It's really a quite brilliant film about a Red Cross doctor who helps some Nuns who are pregnant after being raped by Red Army soldiers. It is far less depressing than that sounds, which is quite some achievement. It has 'award bait' written all over it, but I think it manages to go beyond that to become a really beautiful and affecting film with great performances. Not quite as brilliant as Of Gods and Men which it feels similar to, but wonderful nonetheless.
