This started last night, and episode 1 is satisfyingly mad. Feels like it's going to fill the slot recently vacated by Legion in my weekly viewing. Do yourself a favour and watch it with 5.1 audio - the surround mix is excellent.

I reckon this is going to be better than the book.

(Sorry, not much to say about it, but I felt it needed a thread starting.)

Gulftastic

I'm getting too old for loud music over every bloody scene.

Small Man Big Horse

I had high expectations of this and it delivered and then some, visually it's quite quite beautiful and even more stunning than Fuller's last show, Hannibal. The cast as a whole are superb but Ian McShane's clearly got the most fun role and it's a delight to see him relishing the chance to play such an unusual character. The ending

had me right on the edge of the seat until the last few seconds where I found myself laughing a great deal, a mixture of relief and admiration at how ridiculously bloody yet gorgeously shot the final scene was.

I watched it and really enjoyed it.  I have not read the book so came into it with no idea what it is about.  Mind you I still don't know what it is about but still enjoyed it.

Cerys

I am absolutely loving this so far.  I just wish I could see more before next week.  I've been spoiled by box sets.

Lost Oliver

Nothing to add other than it was really bloody great and I cannae wait for the next one. Mrs LO has read the book and said she wasn't disappointed. Can't wait to see

Bazooka

Really good, great performances and plenty of gore.

kittens

enjoyed this. weird wasn't it. can't wait to see crispin, seems like he is a man specifically designed for a program like this

phantom_power

Yeah, just echoing how great this was. Ricky Whittle eh? Who'd have thought it

Nobody Soup

I never get excited about TV but I'm chomping at the bit over this. first episode was everything I wanted it to be. Myths, legends all tied together in a suitably odd way. wish I could binge watch it.

Small Man Big Horse

The second episode is now available via nefarious means.

I can't believe I didn't recognise him.  That's just embarrassing.

Crabwalk

I didn't know who Ricky Whittles but looking into him, the upturn in his IMDb credits is pretty startling! Celebrity Weakest Link is on there.

It was puzzling me where I recognised the big Irish maniac from and was amazed when IMDb later told me he was Nick Sobotka from The Wire. Dude's beefed up a bit.

I'm still enjoying it but the final twenty minutes dragged a little bit, and whilst it was obviously intentional that fucking song the bloke was singing was ridiculously irritating.
Spoiler alert
And I can't see Shadow being hammered to death next week so it feels like a bit of a cheap cliffhanger.

Damn yeah, I knew his bloody face from somewhere. Will watch episode 2 tonight.

He was also Pornstache from Orange Is The New Black.

I'm quite liking this especially as it stars Lovejoy and Calvin from Hollyoaks. I wonder how long I'll last before realising that I can't be arsed anymore. I'm saying episode 5. Just like Legion.

Bazooka

Still no questions really answered yet, but

. Good episode, 8 episodes seems a bit short though with two already down. The CGI tarantula was shit though.

kittens

when is this show on? it was downloadable this time last week but now i can't find it anywhere. please help me friends

Penfold

It's on tonight I believe.

So normally Monday. Last weeks was leaked online early somewhere.

kittens

ah o.k. makes sense thank you

Small Man Big Horse

Really enjoyed the third one, it's far quirkier than last week and I'm fond of Gaiman when he's messing about with such ideas, bar the odd bit of dodgy looking cgi I've no complaints at all.

kittens

that episode was not as good
first 20 minutes total cheese factory, that egyptian lady going 'hey i was using that' when he takes her heart. and that magic fairy who kissed shadow. gngngn bad bad. rest was good. still enjoying the show, but this was the first one with bits where i was like 'this is not good'

Small Man Big Horse

I'm sorry kittens but you're dead wrong about that. I bet you just didn't like it because of the gay men, you massive homophobe. And yeah, yeah, I know you once made out with Chris Burger but you were drunk and so it doesn't really count.

Bazooka

Another very good episode, who else watched it with Mary Whitehouse in the room?

amnesiac

'pin eck! hope ISIS don't hear about last night's ep, gay Jinn and Anubis taking a Muslim lady?

Loved the opening bit, the acting is so good, slaughterhouse guy is brilliantly quirky and has a strange way with words.
It's still stuck in 'ricky whittle looking confused all the time/ weird shit happening' but I suppose they're busy introducing us to all the gods.

Didn't used to think I was a fan of Gaiman, think I just don't like his stupid face.

kittens

'loved the opening bit, the acting is so good'

this puzzles me. i thought the acting in the opening bit was shite. fuckin 'hey i was using that' when he takes her heart. i really thought that opening was bad, which is disappointing cos i have really liked all the openings so far. then the fairy lady on the roof with the telescopes and stuff. it was all so cheesy and urgh. got better after all that though.
and NO SMBH I AM NOT AFRAID OF THE GAYS AND IN FACT I LIKE GAYS o.k.
did you see that dude's dick. could fit like twenty of my dick inside that dick. and he just bummed him with no lubrication, that's gotta be difficult. then he jizzed a explosion into his brain! seems like an unpleasant experience but guy appeared to have fun so more power to him i guess
