Andy Dawson's a touchy prick, isn't he?

Oh shit Bob just made a complimentary tweet about that Curtis Stigers guy

Andy tweeted an apology after their spat. Bob, who he does a podcast with, probably told him to.

Mark Steels Stockbroker

He does a podcast with Bob Mortimer? Blimey, he kept that quiet.

I think he's just taking the piss, isn't he? He took the piss during 'do a podcast with' stuff too. Hopefully there'll be more podcasts soon.

Yeah Bobs taking the piss for sure. Its genuinely the funniest thing about Dawson - how as a comedy writer he gets owned on there so regularly by the most unlikely people.

An gambling spokesperson, a saxophone player and a fucking railway service provider  - and that's just in the last few weeks.

Which episodes of Mince are best to start with, or can I just dive in?

You can dive in, but a lot of Bob's stories are built on week-on-week, and some of them are long-form "to be continued" types.  I think that all starts around episode 8 or 9 (which is also when any proper football talk goes completely out the window, having already started to dwindle by episode 3).

But it's great from the off, so just start at the beginning.

Zarb-Cousins is an anti-gambling campaigner, which after reading above that Dawson writes for Paddy Power, might explain why he had a pop at Zarb-Cousins.

Is Bob Mortimer's 'cast worth a listen? This co-host sounds like he may sour it.

Repeater

I just started, with the self-described ropey first 8 episodes, and it's pretty good so far. High hopes for it getting better.

Yes. It is one of the best things.

Gregory Torso

It really is excellent. I don't know or care anything about football, and I don't know who Andy Dawson is, but he's pretty good I think on this, and of course, it's Bob, so how could it not be worth listening to?

JoeyBananaduck

Fact is Bob is a well known and well liked popular celebrity. If I was Andy Dawson, the relative unknown who's only claim to fame is 'doing a podcast with Bob Mortimer', the fact that I was becoming widely known as 'that guy who's an arsehole on Twitter' would give me pause. One of these guys needs Athletico Mince. For one of these guys, it's a little hobby.

billyandthecloneasaurus

He just called a Cov player a "rancid little cunt" on twitter.  I look forward to Ballad of Ballard Berkley explaining it's okay because he's sound when they go for a pint, or something.

"And at the end of that round, points go to Ed, Lucy and And-yyyyy!"

He's having another normal one by spending the last couple of days tweeting about a writer for New Socialist daring to set up a Patreon.

Because apparently if you're a socialist living in a capitalist society you should not have money or something.

I'm glad you've bumped this thread, because I walked home from work last night whereupon I proceeded to listen to the latest episode of Athletico Mince and within the first couple of minutes, yer man Dawson said, "I wouldn't sit down in an alleyway of Mexico" sort of apropos of nothing and as the conversation developed he made some other comments about non-touristy areas of America being scary ... It all just felt a bit "huh, huh, here mate, them Mexicans, though... Bit scary, am I right?" In other words, I was pretty appalled and immediately deleted the episode and unsubscribed to the podcast.

In this climate of the rise of so-called Right Wing comedy, this was really pretty disappointing. So aye, fuck that guy.

Dewt

It is absolutely impossible that such a dumpling of a person could be anything else. Nature has made him this. He will never grow beyond the idea that he's one of the few blessed with objective common sense.

Dawson going proper mental on Twitter right now, seems to involve Dankula and Stinson the paedo hunter.  Can anyone fill me in as to what's going on prior to him deleting everything, please?

Appears he sent a rather angry intense tweet to Gove's wife expressing his desire to "chase the fucker down the street and boot him in the balls in front of your kids"

Great to see his political sense is as keenly honed as his comedy chops.

Andy expressing a desire to boot Michael Gove in the balls is the sort of thing people post on this forum every day. So I'm not sure what your point is.

Saying it anonymously on a forum is not the same as tweeting it publicly and directly at his wife.

That's true. I didn't realise that he'd actually included Gove's wife in the tweet.
