Yup, probably the single best performance by a man in a Woody Allen film and the emotional core of Ed Wood. I assume the fact he only truly broke out at such a late stage in his career is a big part of why he doesn't have many more noteworthy roles to his name because he was clearly capable of it.

Inspiring man.  Be sure to see him in Francis Ford Coppola's best movie of the '80s, Tucker, at some point.
