I'm quite looking forward to it as a fan of the Strike series so far, and also thanks to the decent job the Beeb made of the Casual Vacancy adaptation, but the casting of Strike himself looks like quite a diversion from the books. He's described as being quite a bit older and as a total shambles of a man. I've always pictured him as being played by someone like Boris McGiver from House of Cards rather than just another conventionally attractive young actor:



Anyone else anticipating this?
