they're doing live shows again, played a new song at meltdown festival tonight
not a great recording so it won't do it justice, maybe just wait for the studio version

Nicely cleaned-up version here, sounds like a grower - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gb0FdDPa6Kes45HmMmuKGdkMs53eFTI2/view

Think I need to hear the new song properly before actually passing judgement. Sounds good though, on a first impression.

Was at the warmup gig in Birmingham on Friday. Technical problems and shambolic moments aside (False starts and I think Come In Alone was just abandoned entirely), when it was good it was incredible. This might sound odd, given the genre but they need to turn the vocals up a tad.

I hope that the presence of a new song in the Meltdown gig means those EPs Shields was talking about actually materialise when he said. I seem to recall "New You" being debuted a month ahead of m b v releasing, so fingers crossed.

Colm O'Ciosoig is a really underrated drummer, I can't say that enough.
EDIT: That solo gig in Iceland - anyone knw what that was about? Potential new MBV songs? Something else?

The perfect title for an upcoming MBV release.

Turns out Shields has got too many ideas to know what to do with so the new EP or whatever is now later this year, which means next year probably. Pretty funny - even though it's basically bad news since we thought the EP would be out around now, I'm now even more excited.

Part 2 of that Fender thing Kevin Shields did:

Towards the end that new song pops up, in what I assume is a studio version of it. Sounds very Isn't Anything era from that.
