These looked terrible at 50x50 didn't they, and I devoted a whole half hour of my life to making mine!

Naah, I really like that effect - how did you do it? I saw yours and gave tracing my face a go in Photoshop, but either I've not got the face for it, or I can't draw cartoons cause it was shit.
