I remember Thomas saying that Lamarr was someone who would go on nights out looking for fights.

Lamarr talked about that in a Radio 4 interview programme I heard in the 90s. He said it was a kind of regular weekend ritual. (As Ferris indicates) he implied it was a thing he had consigned to his rough Swindon teenagehood before he moved to London, changed his accent and got into showbiz.

Maybe Lamarr has been inspired by Sacha Baren Cohen and is basically staging a spoof assault and sentencing which is all elaborate publicity for his new show that he has been busily writing for 15 years in the shadows.
