I've always thought Diary of a Nobody should have been the greatest Russian novel ever written. Instead it's a mildly amusing novel that grew out of Punch magazine.

Rob Grant's Red Dwarf novel, Backwards, isn't printed entirely backwards. Now that's what I call quite wasteful.

It does, however, recycle bits from the TV series to little effect so in that respect it is pretty backward.
