Did anyone read this series as a child?

The villain's henchmen were called Growlers.

Beaver Towers.

I did. Teacher in Year 4 would read it at end of the class. Loved them - fantastic imagery I'll never forget, like the kid finding the world by holding onto a kite as it goes higher and farther.

Would be keen to reread them and see how much I remember!

We had this read to us in class when we were about 9. Me and my mates found the title hilarious but had no idea of any double meaning.

Wasn't a huge fan but was much preferable to Grinny which I was bored to tears with a year later.
