Anyone got a copy of the rare interview Chip Bigcock (Anus Cop Series' 1-8) did with Michael Parkinson, with Parky goading Bigcock to "show us all your bum...go on...get it out" and Emu shoving his beak up the crack in an unscripted and now censored finale.

The look on Muhammed Ali's face!
Connolly never forgave him for it.

"Colostomy, Colosto-you" Series 3, episode 5

Continuity
During the big dog fight, Anus Cop's khaki slacks are heavily soiled in some scenes, whilst in others they look brand new and freshly pressed.

BlodwynPig

That was because some scenes had to be reshot in Vancouver, which never really replicated the Albuquerque summer mood

BlodwynPig

why's this in HS Art and not picture box?

The spin-off series featuring overweight pork scratchings munching Detective Derek Pogson "Trivial Pursuit"

Episode 1: Pogson is seen languidly trailing a suspicious looking man with large moustache through a shopping mall. Tensions mount as the man places something in a waste paper basket. Eventually Pogson accosts the man at a Wimpy's. "Hey buster, you dropped your handkerchief down by the bayside".

CREDITS.

I was watching Se7en the other day (while one still could) and I could not for the life of me work out why the plot seemed so familiar.

Then I remembered S3 E07 - "The Bristol Scale Murders". I can't remember how each murder happened - apart from the first involved a blow to the head with a very hard object and the seventh and last  a drowning in some sort of thick tea like liquid. However I was astounded by the blatant rip off of the last scene in which the killer has placed AC's wife's turtle's head in a box, much to his horror.

The cheek of it.

BlodwynPig

Bad news AC fans, the projected blu-ray release of the complete series plus films and spin-off series "Trivial Pursuit" has been pushed back to 2019.

Gregory Torso

That is bad news. I'd heard that Nanette Twerdocleb who played Anus Cop's long suffering police dispatcher Babs "Buns" Stuyvesant, had recorded a special commentary.

Season 7, Episode 15: "In Stitches" features Chris Langham as a clown with a ruptured colon.

What Anus Cop memorabilia have you guys got? I traveled to Detroit for a fans convention just last year and managed to pick up an Anus Cop Pebbledash-Cam. It's often forgotten how ahead of its time the show was with its use of technology that wasn't yet invented. I also got Spike 'The Pipe' Shanks to wipe his arse over my Anus Cop On The Pot Hoodie. However, I STILL can't get the Walnut Whip sticker for my '77 sticker album.

Back in my Uni days, a few of us set-up an "ironic" (not ironic) Anus Cop student society. We only got about 5 members and it was pretty lame. Bum jokes, Season marathons, recreations of various "classic" scenes. Anyway, Gentle George had the bright idea that we should try and hold a UK Anus Cop convention and invite actors from the show to turn up and regale us with stories from their time on it.

This was 1996 and George was a bit of early net-nerd. He tracked down an e-mail address for Chip Bigcock and drunk we gathered round the old Dell desktop to concoct a hilarious e-mail.

After that we kind of forgot all about it until a few weeks later George comes running into class screaming "He'll do it! Anus will do it!"

Turns out there was a catch though...Chip said he would come over, bring some old outfits, memorabilia, behind-the-scene photos, underwear etc, on one condition....He gets to "take a doozy in the Queen of England's Hat".

No amount of bargaining would get him to downgrade his condition, and that was that...the society folded shortly afterwards and the last time I heard from George he was serving a couple of years in Wormwood after being done for distribution of particularly nasty scat porn.

That's a really beautiful story.

Wish I still had my copy of this. I could get one fairly cheap on eBay but it wouldn't be the same - my mum had written in the inside cover "To my special little botty sleuth!", which I used to kiss every night before lights out. Alright, I'm welling up a bit now.

Are there any copies of the lost episodes floating around? I remember they were on YouTube at one point but they were taken down. It was when NBC re-cancelled it after season 12 before they re-revived it the following month. There were 6 episodes that were filmed but never aired, so some of the threads in season 13 such as the addition of Detective B. Movement and that whole prolapse arc were a bit confusing.

BlodwynPig

did you take your username from one of those lost episode titles? the one in the pig abattoir?

I had one of the TV movie posters on my wall at uni (ironically of course). I think it was Skidmarks! or Turds of a Feather. I got an Anus Cop yearbook (possibly 1982?) in with a job-lot of Beano/Dandy annuals from the same period but I doubt I still have it.

"Anus de Milo" - Series 6, Episode 6

Trivia:
David Niven's last performance on screen, as fine art forger and tea smuggler Charles McCuntybaws.

BlodwynPig

I thought he also appeared in Series 6, Episode 9 "Squeaky Bum Time" as an ailing pet shop owner and pederast Clifton Jib?

Edit: Sorry, that was a young Tom Selleck

That wasn't Niven, though he played a similar cameo in Magnum PI so the fan theory is that they are the same character and Anus and Magnum inhabit the same universe.

Edit: see you corrected your initial post. Nice one

BlodwynPig

The rumours emerging in the early internet days was that a young Tom Selleck was biffing Chip Bigcock's second wife, Lovely Backview, behind her back (literally). This enraged Chip and he got Selleck thrown off Anus Cop after two episodes (Clifton was supposed to be a recurring villain).

If you watch the early seasons of Magnum PI you'll see Selleck having repeated digs at Chip - "you're a chip off the old block" *winks to camera*; "My, that's an exquisite back view I've got from here" (aimed towards a Lovely lookalike actress in a bikini), "Where have you been Magnum!"..."Oh sorry Bert, I just rear ended a lovely girl in the parking lot" *winks to camera*

Of course it all ended sourly when the pair of them were involved in fisticuffs on Wogan and an inebriated Ollie Reed sparked Chip out. The mimed butt-fucking that Selleck does as he pretends to go to Bigcock's aid went largely unnoticed, as did the *wink to camera*.

Gregory Torso

It's an easy mistake to make - young, moustache-less Tom Selleck looked like the absolute twin of the 72 year old version of David Niven (although when Niven hit 73, he blossomed into more of a young Ted Danson in my opinion).

BlodwynPig

Well here you go, rare behind-the-scenes shot of Niven post-Anus shoot

and a still from the first episode Tom Selleck appeared in (sitting in the infamous Anus Chair)

The Anus Cop novelisations are hard to find, but worth it for the in depth descriptions. Although seven pages describing the texture of a ringpiece may have been too much.

The confusion was added to by the short lived 78-79 series in which a moustachioed Elliott Gould played a urologist turned amateur detective called Magnus.

Cyrus Magnus, MD never had the charm of its two bigger brothers. Niven never made a cameo in it but probably would have done if it didn't fold after 2 (mostly bad) seasons.

Early days of forensics mate...if it wasn't for the dedication of the B.U.T.T. Lab Techs in West Virginia, many crimes would not have been solved to this day.
