We all enjoying Project Dagmar and the cartoon villains? It's great.

Wasn't that Phil's storyline?

ollyboro

Dean Gaffney. I've seen less wood on a gay porno set in a forest.

Malcy

Kat's coming back so that's the cliffhanger on Redwater resolved.

Malcy

Last night's ep for me went like this.

Tanya!
Oh oh better find that gun!
Poor Max.
Phil has fast reflexes.
Oh shit there's still a message from Jane.

ARGH! HOLY FUCKING SHIT. NOOOOOOOOO. OH MY GOD, FUUUUCK etc!

buttgammon

I shouted out "for fuck's sake girls, get off the fucking roof" at one point.

Gulftastic

Whereas Emmerdale did it's own version of the classic Hammer House Of Horror episode 'Rude Awkening'.

Sadly, minus the nude scene.

Okay. That's piqued my interest.

Oh for fuck's sake.

They're ever closer to showing a close up of an opened vein in a bathtub for Christmas.

Bring it on i'd say. Too much cheer on Xmas day.

A character said 'if this goes tits-up' pre-watershed. Interesting.

Del Boy said that in the OFAH ep where they found the watch.

Gave it up a while ago, too depressing.

I quite like this Twitter account mostly comprised of Phil Mitchell memes though https://twitter.com/eastenderreacts

Desirable Industrial Unit

I stopped watching Eastenders maybe 5 years ago, but have tuned back in during the festive season and it's been massively rewarding.  The tone is so brilliantly all over the place.  A pregnant young lady is rendered brain dead, then a couple of scenes later you've got Danny Dyer in big paw slippers out on a caper.  This ridiculousness isn't new, it's what it's always been like when it hits its peaks.  I should never have left you, Walford.

Malcy

Kevin Eldon turned up in this during the week as a hit-man. I thought the voice sounded a bit like him but was genuinely surprised to see it was him sat at the bar!

Divisive, cute as button, Ruby Allen has returned and thrust straight into a hard hitting rape/consent storyline. Problem being nobody knows who she is and those who do remember her mostly hate her. Good job guys.

Her return does make me hopeful they dig up Jake Moon, played by Lee the tosser from The Office. His exit suggested death but never confirmed. I'd like to see him show up and play protector to his old boss' daughter. The square needs a new hard man to shake shit up.

Really not feeling the returns of Kat and Mel. They've already got Sharon and Linda. Denise is severely under used, Shirley has lost all her bite and Kathy has done fuck all since rising from the dead.

Has The actor Christopher Timothy left? His weird chess obsession seemed like it might lead somewhere dark but he really was just a boring pillock. Death of Big Joyce seemed to perk him up a bit but haven't seen him in ages.

Sharon banging an 18 year old in Phil Mitchell's bed is pretty fucking amazing. Knowing that Phil would put the poor lad in hospital and give her just a dry slap, she really doesn't give a shit does she?

The Fowler/Slater Tardis needs sorting out. Why are Whit and Tiff even there? They've got family at Dot's with Sonia, Robbie and Bex. Sonia-aunt, Robbie-uncle, Bex-cousin. Also uncles Max and Jack. Yet they prefer to bunk up in the box room in that fucking mad house.

In fact why don't they move into the houseshare. Used to be Jay, Ben, Abi and Donna but the last three have left. Get some fun raunchy stuff going on in there. Fill it with people.

James Wilmott Brown was such a disappointment. My hope was he'd turn out to be Jay Brown's father. Such a waste.

According to Gaffney an iconic character is returning at Christmas. My money's on Sid Owen returning to save his daughter Tiffany from them hoodlums.

I discovered only a couple of weeks ago that my daughter is named after her. I had no idea, but her mother was watching Eastenders twelve years ago, and liked the sound of the name. I was completely oblivious to this until she turned up in the show again.

Uncle TechTip

Dot's house is something of a black hole, I understand she's not been seen for nine months now, each time her whereabouts are queried she's "staying with Abby" or "at church" or "gone to the doctor's". I'm sure they could start saying "down the laundrette", there's so few viewers no-one will remember they closed it the other year.

Malcy

I think Dean Gaffneys character return comments were just about Alfie returning again. They've decided to do some Big Finish style audios that will tell the story of Kat, Alfie & Hayley in Spain. Think they're doing ones for other characters as well.

Good to have Ruby back to perv over. Dunno where they're going to go with her after the rape trial but it seems she's sticking around for a while.

The Sharon & Keanu stuff has been brilliant. Phil returning to the square while Keanu was handcuffed to the bed banging Sharon was tense as fuck but you knew that Louise & Keegan going at it on the kitchen floor would have been a long enough distraction for them to get out of it.

Been nice having Dr Legg back as well. Think Christopher Timothy will be back soon. Don't really know what they are doing with Mel but there's to be a big New Year revenge plot for her.

As for the whole Carter faaaaaamllllllyyy stuff, I hope its resolved soon. Its lost a bit of momentum. Just waiting on Mick to finish off Stuart who is a wonderfully bonkers person.

I remember a while back on Twitter Michael Cashman, who played Colin Russell in the 80s and returned a couple of years back, had visited Leonard Fenton in the care home where he lives. I was surprised when some time after that they announced Legg was returning.

I can't be arsed finding the article but I swear Gaffney referred to the returnee as a friend of his and so I immediately thought of Sid Owen.

Can't believe its taken Keegan and Lou so long. I missed a few episodes but caught one with Ray and Lou chatting and it seemed from responses this wasn't the first time and a possibly thing going on there.

Shame they only brought Ricky Champ for this storyline. I had him pegged as a love interest for Kim Fox.

As for Dot I think she has Nigel in Scotland, granddaughter Kirsty(fomerly known as Dotty) and grandson Charlie and baby Matthew in Ireland to visit when she's off screen.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I really think Natalie Cassidy deserves more storylines. Solid actress when on form. Years of service. Grew on on the show. Funnily enough she's about the same age as Carol was when the Jackson's first arrived. I think giving her Dot's house, sort of, is a step in the right direction. She's connected, related to s many characters and I'd love to see a big family built around her.

Plus they always forget that the Jacksons are related to Max and Jack. I'd love to see Sonia taking on Carol's nagging role.

Phil_A

For some reason I thought Leonard Fenton had died years ago, is it definitely the same actor playing Dr Legg?

92 he is.

With Michael Cashman and June Brown.

Last nights 'let's discuss gender politics and the whole #metoo situation' made for the most surreal episode of any soap I think I've ever seen.

Dear lord, as if Eastenders isn't dystopian enough. I hope Phil Mitchell barged in steaming drunk at least.

I missed Thursday and Fridays. Sounded like some fancy Holloaks type stuff
