Should be back now, having some internet issues.

That's a bleak episode of KoTH - I actually find it quite upsetting

Yes it is quite sad.

Twilight Zone time now.

Got back from the pub just in time to catch the end. Really enjoyed the show with the Japanese Frankie Howerd:

Edit: oh fuck, just realised that you've stopped broadcasting

So. Did lying Billy the Liar learn an important lesson by the end of the film.. or not?

I don't think he did to be honest, but he did decide to stick around a face the music.

Despite my rather glib joke, I've now become bizarrely sucked into their FC2 channel.

It seems that Japanese Frankie Howerd and Japanese Jamie Theakston team up with a rotational pretty lady, and endlessly dedicate themselves to travelling round on a succession of drab local bus routes. It's compulsive precision aimlessness, always taking place on an inclement and hopelessly overcast day

Thanks to Avril for originally recommending Picnic, and thanks Del for picking it.
It's freaky in a way that is indescribable, and the sense of the unknowable and inexplicable is so amazingly well communicated.
A convincing mystery does something to my brain. It gives me Twin Peaks shivers.
Speaking of which, I'm reminded of this quote from The Log Lady:

QuoteThere are clues everywhere, all around us. But the puzzle maker is clever. The clues, although surrounding us, are somehow mistaken for something else. And the something else, the wrong interpretation of the clues, we call our world. Our world is a magical smoke screen. How should we interpret the happy song of the meadowlark or the robust flavor of a wild strawberry?

Reminder this is on tonight from 6pm with a preshow starting from 4pm.
