The BBC didn't broadcast any Quantum Leap over this Christmas season, but I thought I'd share a few pages from the Christmas 1991 Radio Times anyway before we cross over into 1992.  If you're anything like me, Christmas issues sat around the house for two weeks and they were given more studious attention than the usual issues, so you may even directly remember some of these pages.  Plus the WHSmith Aquafresh family deserve some closure, don't they.  Enjoy them now, for you will feel their absence in the post-festive weeks to come.

It pleases me that Brian Blessed's mountaineering exploits have arisen here just as he's receiving fresh attention in the RHLSTP thread.

Nice to have the letter there as well about the speed differences between PAL and NTSC.

Yes the Pal/NTSC has been a hot button issue on the Quantum Leap reruns.

Oh I've also got some mid 90's Cable And Satallite magazines and ordeed some Radio Times trying to get to the bottom of a personal memory and potential stream later down the line. I'm trying to find the line up from a station I can't recall in a year I can't recall, where they rerans a huge block of classic cartoons over the Summer Period. I would like to recreate that block.

If I can help you get to the bottom of that by locating details from specific issues, then let me know.

Another idea, Replies would you like to book (spam) for one night. Give me a list of your fatasy line up and ill put it together.

Nice guesses.  I never watched Blake 7 or Star Cops!

For the evening I'd probably aim for some old documentaries, a foreign film, the kind of experimental animation that used to be shown in the 90s to fill in schedules when half-hour programmes ran to 25 minutes; things like this.  Maybe even an opera in the late evening (for anyone who sticks it out for that long) because I grew up with my Dad just starting to get into opera, and it rubbed off on me.

Earlier in the day I'd aim for some nostalgic kids telly, but as obscure as possible.  For example there was a radio 4 programme for children called 'The Cat's Whiskers' in the mid 80s that I listened to before I ever watched any TV, so if any of that exists online I'd aim for an episode of that.

Here and there I'd include some comedy and maybe something related to Doctor Who.

I'll give it all a think!

Blimey - how was I unaware of that film?  Can't wait!

Ooh, I started an Oscillations thread about that.
Finally a chance to find out if it's 'Bula Quo' bad or even worse.

It was that very thread that made me add it to the list of (spam) films.

What did you decide would be replacing Hitchhiker's Guide?

I think by the feelings of the chatroom it will be, A Bit Of Fry And Laurie.
